I tried to do Up in Arms as Beastmaster for the first time in many years. I was able to win, but it was a frustrating experience.

The distance reduction for Ready moves still makes playing as Beastmaster quite frustrating. I have to stand completely inside of the Fe'e enemy (Kraken/Sea Monk type) to execute any Ready Moves and I could not predict when my activation was going to be successful.

Keep in mind, I also play WAR, MNK, DRK, SAM and BLU ...and sadly, BST doesn't play like a front-line DD at all. It just feels very broken.

To be specific: My character has to physically collide with the model of the enemy and fight inside the monster to do any Ready move. While a Kraken is a large enemy, I can't imagine how frustrating this would be if the mob were any larger. (Such as wyrms, adamantoise, rams, cerberus, etc etc).

I don't expect this to change or ever be fixed. We haven't received Front Line abilities to compensate for this restriction. Meanwhile, I thought applying Pet Buffs to the Beastmaster via Ready moves was fun at first, but the novelty wears off very quickly, after about a week or two. It's just to frustrating to play a game, where the activation of any abilities is so unpredictable.

I really do enjoy Beastmaster when I get to use it. I enjoy applying Purulent Ooze on Bumba and am grateful to have a place in any endgame content. Beastmaster has been my favorite job for 20 years, but ~7-8 years after this distance restriction is now very distressing.

I play FFXI because I have other jobs that I enjoy playing and some of my friends are still playing.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my feedback on Beastmaster. I also wanted to say that I appreciate your continued support and updates to FF11, from the community folks, to the engineers, to the operations staff. FF11 really is my favorite game, even if my favorite job isn't as great as it used to be.

Thank you for reading.
