    /Assist Channel Warning System

    On occasion the /assist channel is passively used to harass other mentors when saying hello or giving advice which is not against any FFXI rules or does it violate any style of civil discourse.

    Some mentors feel they can give player warnings as a form of harassment in this channel & they have full anonymity doing so. I have and will continue to report this to a GM when it happens as it is truly a passive form of harassment & should be treated as such. This is my 1st forum post to address the issue.

    We may consider removing this feature as I have never seen it actually used correctly. OR issue a warning and/or possibly temp bans for harassment by not using the warning system properly on multiple occasions.

    I remember someone who just returned spammed the assist channel with condescending unprompted 'advice'.
    after 15 minutes of non-stop /assist spam from that person they were muted from the channel.
