Good day, adventurers!
Just when it seemed like summer had ended and we could enjoy the milder autumn weather, it has gotten quite cold recently as we begin the transition into winter. The temperature tends to fluctuate quite heavily this time of year, so please remember to eat well, stay active, and make time to relax so as to keep colds and other illnesses at bay.
Now then, I'd like to talk about the November 2025 version update. Since it's the "eleventh" month of the year, this update will feature even more content than usual.
■ Revisions to the Limbus reward cycle
In the October version update, we extended the time period for defeating the notorious monsters and the treasure chest change from one to four weeks in order to help alleviate the content's somewhat hectic pacing.
As part of this month's update, you can check the tabulation period for the number of notorious monsters defeated by speaking to Temenos Operator or Apollyon Operator within Limbus.
I hope to discuss future Limbus updates in Episode 71 of Freshly Picked Vana'diel, which is scheduled to air on Friday, November 7.
■ Login campaign renewal
As mentioned in my greetings last month, the official FFXI website, and also on social media, we are planning a renewal of the login campaign system from November 2025.
We are doing this for two main reasons.■ Additional enhancements- Provide a wider lineup of both fashionable and functional items■ Return to a system that rewards regular logins
- Create an opportunity to easily reacquire items that were previously available
- Make it even easier to obtain certain alter egos![]()
In order to realize these goals, we plan to implement the following changes:
1. Change the number of points needed for the exchangeWe plan to make it easier to obtain featured and other transformation items that were added in the past, starting with the older ones first, while also creating an environment that allows new items to be added. There will be a fairly large reduction to the number of points required for the former, while the latter will either maintain the status quo or create an all-new tier for higher rated items.2. Add new itemsThe primary method for developing your characters and equipment will be the same as it has always been—playing the in-game content. However, we plan to offer additional ways to obtain upgrade materials and other items. For example, we will add the ability to use Unity accolades when reforging equipment from November 2025.3. Change the amount of login points receivedThe amount of points earned for each login will be reduced up until the 14th login. Although this is a bit of a change from before, please consider it to be part of the item exchange rate revisions mentioned in the first change up above. You will be able to see the adjustments in more detail when the item lineup for November 2025 is made available. In conjunction with this, the bonus login points will be earned with your 15th login rather than the 1st.4. Change the number of points that can be carried over to the following monthAs part of this renewal, the maximum number of unused login points that can be carried over to the following month will be reduced from 1,500 to 700 starting this month. Be sure to keep this in mind when exchanging for items so you don't lose any of your points. In addition, we plan to release information regarding the November 2025 Login Campaign tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5.
■ Mission-related adjustments
![]()
We will be making the following adjustments in order to help you progress through the missions more easily.
- Increase visibility of the location ("???") where the "sliced pole" key item can be acquired
- Add new spoils to the "The Orb's Radiance" battlefield
The "sliced pole" key item makes it easier to get through the Wings of the Goddess missions. Also, since it is more effective to make smaller adjustments over time, we will continue to update the content when it is appropriate to do so.
The spoils to be added to "The Orb's Radiance" battlefield will consist of an item that gives you Exemplar Points.
Rhapsodies of Vana'diel is a special story that served as the final scenario of the FFXI saga, while "The Orb's Radiance" battlefield plays a distinctive role in that story, so it is our hope that adventurers can enjoy completing the battlefield, regardless of when they seek to take it on. Furthermore, as a small token of our appreciation for those of you who have already completed the mission, we have added new spoils that will earn you Exemplar Points.
■ Ambuscade updates
![]()
・Volume 1: Poroggo battle (Item Level 119 & up)
・Volume 2: Heartwing battle (Item Level 109 & up)
For the poroggo in Volume 1, make sure to put any summoned enemies to sleep! In Volume 2, the key to defeating the heartwing is to work together with the Leafkin that appear. Give them plenty of water to help them out.
■ Vana'Bout - Round 7
We will be updating certain aspects of this content before its release in November, using feedback we've received from players in order to make it more enjoyable and also more accessible to a wider audience. Currently, we are working on some final revisions to the event in order to ensure that it offers something unique for November as the eleventh month of the year, and also provides a different approach from the special round that was held last time. (By the time you read this letter, we should be finished with the adjustments and testing!)
1. Add the ability to cancel the daily objectiveYou will now be able to cancel the daily objective.2. Show detailed info for each objectiveDetails such as the completion requirements, the names and locations of NPCs that you need to report to, and other related information may be included on the objective details screen, but can also sometimes be found within the objective description. As such, we are working to organize and standardize such details throughout the content. We plan to make these adjustments over time, so please bear with us if not all of the objectives are addressed at once.3. Add new objectivesWe are adding new objectives for both the daily and time-based objectives. Going forward, we plan to increase the kinds of objectives as well. For example, there could be objectives linked to ongoing seasonal events and campaigns, or ones that easily overlap with your daily in-game activities.4. Balance adjustments based on increasing the number of time-based objectives and maintaining the number of daily objectivesWe are slightly increasing the total number of time-based objectives. As such, we have made some adjustments to the content and scoring system, based on the assumption of five daily objectives per day. Our goal is to enable you to adjust your playtime based on your schedule and mood, like when you have extra time to play or wish to take on more objectives when playing alongside other players.5. Add new rewardsWe are also adjusting the rewards system, in terms of the content used to earn them, the timing, and also the reward balance. New rewards will be added for both the overall rewards and personal rewards (Silver tier). With the personal rewards, it is our hope that players try to earn the Silver tier prize while also looking forward to content outside of Vana'Bout.
■ A.M.A.N. Trove renewal
Thanks to the excellent work of the Adventurers' Mutual Aid Network (A.M.A.N.), the A.M.A.N. Trove is better than ever!
(Rumor has it they refuse to be outdone by Shami's Trove...)
1. Add "an impossible to gauge thud"Also, and this is extremely important... It will now actually make a sound! At present, the "loud thud" can include items that can differ greatly in terms of both quality and desirability, meaning that it can lead to disappointment if you don't get the right items. Therefore, we have added a new category—"an impossible to gauge thud"—in order to help make the distinction even clearer.2. Reestablish the appeal of Venus OrbsWe are adjusting the rate at which you can hear each sound so that you can really tell the difference in terms of item quality when using a Venus Orb.。3. Revise the available spoilsAs part of our general revisions, we've added some new rewards while also removing certain spoils. I believe everyone that has attempted the challenge will feel a new sense of excitement due to these new spoils. For example, take a look at this piece of equipment...
■ New shared areas in Dynamis – Divergence
Sorry for the wait on this! We've finished our preparations on making Dynamis – Divergence available for solo play!
We have created a separate area and entrance from the current Divergence, so in order to distinguish between the two areas, the existing Divergence will continue to be referred to as the "occupied areas" and the new areas will be the "shared areas."
Note that there will be no changes made to the occupied areas. You can take them on using the same conditions as before.
The following is an overview of the newly established shared areas.- The areas in each nation open and close at predetermined timesPlease see the version update information for more details.
- The time limit cannot be extended
- You can take on the shared areas once per day (resets at 12:00 a.m. JST Earth time)
- After entering the area, other players can join you to take on the content
- The area ends when you defeat all of the Wave 2 enemies or reach the time limit
These new shared areas are designed to help players who found it difficult to take on the content before, and provide them an opportunity to upgrade their relic armor, or at least give them a better chance of doing so. It is our hope that as many adventurers as possible take advantage of this new feature.
■ New episode of Freshly Picked Vana'diel!
Episode 71 of Freshly Picked Vana'diel is scheduled to air on Friday, November 7.
In addition to the details regarding the November version update that I've already mentioned, I'd also like to share as much information as possible about the game's future, including some of our plans for 2026.
We'll be joined by fellow adventurer and friend to FFXI, Emiri Kato, making this an episode befitting the eleventh month of the year! I hope you're looking forward to it!
Safe journeys!
