No glowing from Ebisu +1 or Lu Shangs +1 while fishing

Details:
When I fish both Ebisu +1 and Lu Shangs +1 do not have the glow effect. The effect is seen by others around me that are also fishing with one.

Steps:
When I cast out my rod there is no glow effect. I've done this in multiple zones and towns and have the same issue.

Date & Time:
I first noticed it on Oct 5th. I haven't fished in around a month and when I last did I had the glow effect on both.

Works for me still here.

Things that come to mind: Run the file checks (both via the FFXI config utility and PlayOnline Viewer) and make sure no 'lockstyle{set}' is being applied.

The issue is still happening. I tested with lockstyle off and on. I ran the file check in PlayOnline Viewer, it gave me 2 choices for where to run the file check. I did both. It found issues and repaired POL.exe for one check and a few different .dat files from the other file check I had it fix. Is there a specific file for the glow effect of the rods I can take from a new game download that I then could replace in the folder to see if it's just that file?

Don't do the file check in the POL viewer main menu. Use the file check option in the FFXI Config Tool. This will fix issues the main menu file check won't.

I ran the check and it didn't find anything.

Well.. the only other explanation is you have swapped DAT files. File check doesn't always pick them up.

But I can assure you i've seen these effects and they are working. So it must be something on your end.

What is the dat file number for it so I can check in the folder that it's in from a new download and check it? Like I said I was seeing the effect both with my rod and others fishing and then a month later when I fished again I didn't. I never changed any dat files myself.

In-Game, go to settings > Misc.3 > Weapon Effects
set it to ON

Want it to stop glowing? set it to OFF

This worked. Thank you. I didn't even think it would be part of a weapon effects and I could of sworn I always had it switched off anyway with the rest of the effects options to stop lag.
