Good day, adventurers!

The weather has varied wildly here in Japan this summer, as days of nearly 40°C (102°F) heat are immediately followed by severe rainstorms, making the changes go well beyond the typical temperature differences between day and night. There has even been heavy flooding in areas throughout the country, so all of us are praying for a swift return to more stable weather conditions.

In regards to the September version update, I have been working closely alongside the Development and Operations teams, and we were able to include a larger range of content than originally anticipated. I'd like to cover each of these items in detail.

In last month's version update, we unlocked Level 12 beastmen within Besieged.

While the NPCs, including the Five Serpent Generals, are tougher than before, so are the beastmen, which you're probably seeing for yourself right about now. Therefore, as part of our revisions to the content for this month, we are adding additional rewards (items that can be exchanged for Imperial Standing).

We have also made some adjustments to the evaluation format after completing Besieged, so it is now designed to better reward those adventurers who contributed to the city's defense. This adjustment is intended to help prevent players from simply chasing after the content's rewards without making any actual contributions to the cause. While we do not plan to be too strict with the grading criteria, please let us know if anything feels off or unbalanced.

As part of the second round of updates to Limbus, we're adding some notorious monsters to the mix!

Instead of being controlled by a single party, these notorious monster battles will be open to any number of adventurers.

Overall, they'll kind of be like Domain Invasion battles, but with the following special features:
  • The notorious monsters won't disappear until they are defeated.
  • Their HP won't recover even when not currently engaged in battle.
  • If you successfully defeat the monster, you'll be given a chance to obtain a "new reward" as part of your activities in Limbus the following week.
  • The more notorious monsters you defeat, the greater your chances of obtaining the reward.

Please see the version update information for more details.

Reacquiring certain equipment

Since most equipment can be converted to the appropriate type via the Ancestry Moogle and other methods, we stated at the launch of the Character Race Change Service in May 2025 that only certain equipment can be exchanged. However, we have received feedback stating that you would like the opportunity to reacquire race-specific gear and Mog Garden equipment, as well as the ability to exchange for the opposite gender. Therefore, we will be implementing the following measures in response:
  • Race-specific Gear
This can now be purchased from Curio Vendor Moogles.
  • Mog Gardens Equipment
This has been added to the Ancestry Moogle's product lineup.

Additional details regarding the suspension of new player creation on the Asura World

The limit on the number of alt characters that can be created on the Asura World will be increased.

As mentioned elsewhere, we are implementing this change because even though we anticipated that players on the Asura World would create more alt characters once we notified them that the World would no longer be accepting new players, the available character slots filled up much quicker than anticipated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Additionally, we are continuing to work on measures designed to encourage players to migrate to other Worlds, so as to achieve a better player population balance between them. We'll be sure to let you know once we have more details to share regarding this matter.

The Goblin Stew 880 item that is currently only sold during the Mog Gardens Campaign will now be available permanently.

Although we have increased the price of the item somewhat, purchasing one lets you complete any stage of the inventory expansion quest. If you're having trouble obtaining the required materials for the quest, make sure to stop by Muckvix's Junk Shop in Lower Jeuno.

Adjustments to acquiring the ♪Omega mount

♪Omega is an extra special mount that can only be acquired by completing the 15th Vana'versary Records of Eminence objective and solving the mystery behind the device located in Fei'Yin. However, we've heard from some of you that it can be difficult to complete all of the necessary steps.

As some time has elapsed since the content's original implementation, we have shared some information about the device in Fei'Yin with Boisterous Jackal, who can be found in Lower Jeuno.

This should help you obtain the final piece of the puzzle. Be sure to check out the Omega mount born from Zilartian technology!

Adjustments to Fame in Seekers of Adoulin
As part of the August version update, we removed some obstacles from Yorcia Weald as part of our plan to make the game better for solo play. In a continuation of those efforts, we will also be relaxing the rank increase requirements for acquiring fame in Seekers of Adoulin.

I believe this will make it easier to complete the Seekers of Adoulin missions, and also allow you to obtain the key item needed to participate in Wildskeeper Reives much sooner.

These adjustments are intended to help players who have expressed a desire to enjoy the story developments and other content that appear later on in a more accessible manner. Although it is difficult to make widespread changes to too much content at once, we will continue working on ways to make the game more enjoyable for new adventurers and returning players alike, so that as many people as possible can enjoy everything that the game has to offer. To that end, we welcome your feedback on our efforts so far as well as those still to come.

About the number of entrants for Dynamis – Divergence
I have an update regarding the participation method for the content.

We have taken great care when deciding upon the minimum number of players allowed within Dynamis – Divergence, due to the impact that would arise from such major changes to the content. However, we are finally at the point where we feel we have an idea about what shape these possible changes could take.

Although we are not ready to give an update on our progress, we feel it's better to give you small updates like this, even at irregular intervals, so that you can prepare for the upcoming changes rather than being surprised by them if they are implemented without notice.

Therefore, we will be holding a campaign from September that makes it easier for you to challenge the boss monsters found in Dynamis - Buburimu, Dynamis - Valkurm, and Dynamis - Qufim. (We also plan to make it easier to obtain items that weaken the Dynamis - Buburimu boss as part of September's Dynamis Granules of Time Campaign.)

While many aspects of the game are easier than they were in the past, we felt this was another way to help ease both new and returning players into the game as it stands today. Therefore, please feel free to take advantage of these opportunities if they appeal to you.

Lastly, I would like to inform you about our current and upcoming campaigns for the game.

Discount Campaign and other upcoming campaigns
In addition to the currently ongoing Discount Campaign, the Echoes of Vana'diel Discount Campaign will also be available from Wednesday, September 10.

If you know anyone interested in playing FINAL FANTASY XI, be sure to tell them about this opportunity to join you on your adventures throughout Vana'diel.

That does it for this month's update. Until next time...
Safe journeys!
