Akin to GW2, feel it would be cool if mounts performed a special attack that players can use instead of simply dismounting. However, it dismounts the player.
Basically, get near an enemy, mount uses the attack, player dismounts.

Given the limitations of animations and such in this game, I don't see any way they could make such a thing look decent or at all elegant.
I'm an avid Guild Wars 2 player myself, I think it's super fun to combat-dismount like that too, but it's true what Alhanelem said. I don't think it'd look or feel very good since there would be a long pause between dismounting and being able to engage in combat properly, as opposed to Guild Wars 2 where everything is seamless and your character doesn't fade out & in again.
Should the player use this type of attack against a stronger enemy, chances are they'd have taken a ludicrous amount of damage before they could even start attacking themselves.
I don't think even FF14 could do this elegantly, it's faster but the player entity still has to fade out and in to change its state. I think it's just something that has to be planned beforehand during development, sadly, because it would be awesome if it was possible of course![]()
