    65+, 75+ cap on Abyssea? No? If not, I have another idea.

    Popular beaten to a stick debate/topic was how Abyssea should have a raised cap at either 65+ or 75+. Judging by the updates it looks like that's not going to happen so I have another idea.

    How about adding a section or modifying a section no one really plays in Abyssea to accommodate levels from 60-75?

    As we all now since Abyssea has came out, it's rather difficult to get into parties while in the 60ish range. However, if they were to add or modify a not really used part of Abyssea that levels 60-75 could have their parties in, it would fix a lot of the problems people have with Abyssea and let people have fun at the same time.

    I dare say the only "unused" parts are the areas with mobs people would never really EXP on anyway, which basically means Soulflayers, Gargoyles, and other similar types. Unfortunately, even these are then associated with NMs, either timed or popped, and thus occasionally used.

    I could see the lower halves of Tahrongi and the Highlands retrofitted, as they're largely empty tunnels, but La Theine's a bit trickier since it opens up pretty much instantly to the Limules. But Abyssea also brings up the issue of how lights and chain building could allow a bunch of 90s to just steamroll through level 60-65 mobs and eventually get the same benefits.

    I dunno. Given how crabby some have been over the Kings change and BS/KS, proposing additional and useful items for CP, AN, or IS at their highest ranks might not go over well, either. The AN angle would still require some decent Campaign overhauls to make the process collectively more enjoyable, too.

    If you want the old FFXI experience, Colibri are still around. Go and kill a handful and then imagine doing that for 100+ hours.

    If they added a part of the zone with such mobs high level players would go kill them to cap lights or get easy chests, so they would have to give a seperate type of light and chests.

    This, stop complaining about it, dead horse is dead and beaten into nothing. If you want to exp the old way, go exp the old way, no one is stopping you, quit trying to force stuff on the rest of the playerbase they don't want.

    Campaign should be the place for lowbies. That entire event alone could span 30-75 if changed to suit such affairs.

    I thought of this idea last night and almost posted it and other stuff in that other thread about level 60 melees being gimp to a level 100 monster, but the problem is that would take us out of other areas even more and it's not a road I really want travel nor do I think SE will travel it... so yeah.

    My other idea was for them to rework the rest of the game to work like Abyssea but I'm sure there's something silly in the coding that prevents it from being an easy change....

    Also, I'm pretty sure you could replace low 60s area camps with Abyssea for a 6 man group if you're so inclined to do so(assuming that it would scale the same of course) but the only problem would be level 90s and any number of reasons for them to kill any monster in Abyssea. They could implement really low level monsters that are too weaks to high level players in there and for the sole purpose of exp with no NM strings attached and it'd work but again, it would only serve to make the rest of the game vacant of life. Not so sure anyone really REALLY wants that.

    Lastly, you would need to get exp for a chest to drop or to get a light so yeah, that problem solved, too.

    lot of people just don't want to xp outside aby, you can do anything you want (that is not increase possible xp/h out abyssea to a point that it beat abyssea) they'll stilll xp in abyssea.

    Doesn't matter. You cant always leech in an Abyssea EXP alliance (the ones actually composed of people who arent AFK in front of the dom ops npcs) and so Campaign being more like Bastion would be a reasonable EXP option. Drastically up the EXP rates, scale monsters for certain level spans in certain areas and increase the rate of Campaign battles.

    Each mob rewarding EXP in attention to a larger reward for the battle ending would result in an area for casual EXP, skillup and overall better conditions for the economy. It wouldn't eradicate leeching but it'd give people the option to level on their own time.

    That is the single greatest problem atm - you cant EXP lowbies unless you leech in FFXI atm.
