    Abyssea and returning BST

Hi all ! I'm a BST 64 just returned to the game and was wondering what do i do in Abyssea, party, solo, ect.? I have read up on it but can't seem to find a BST soloing thread in Abyssea or if it is even possible at lvl 64. Any info would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you fellow bsts in advance!

well I have no clue where you can even solo in abby that low ... you most likely will wind up leaching or "key whoring" till you are higher. One good pt will rock you to 90 and you will be able solo all kinds stuff then prob grab some sheep or w/e in case u need pet pull laterish. But ya i dont think that low you can contribute much in abby other than opening boxes.

Nothing you can do in Abyssea at that level except open chests or leech.

The only way to solo at that level would be if you already have really good atma and you were in a visions zone.
    Otherwise you need levels first.

(edit: grrr forums on mobile makes for poor spelling problems)

only mage jobs are effective at your level in Aby. Later? an entirely different matter. Once you have gotten your 3 Atma abyssites and some of the better Atma you will find that bst can solo SOME content or do well in a party. The problem is, beast does not have the native capacity to get the correct light balance for sustained Time extension chests. Honestly, only red mage, blue mage and a fully skilled pup can do that. You will also need higher end gear to solo effectively, and to get your skills up. Empyrean weapons are pretty much a must-have as well. You can-if you find a group-get bestia gear (level 87, gained by trophies) to tide you over until you get the AF3 +1 (note than without at least the +1 your AF3 is NOT good gear). Relic/AF1 +1 and/or the stuff from the expansion packs is worthwhile as well.

Honestly, without knowing more about where you are makes it hard to comment intelligently. Get your skills up, and get used to working with jugs and the "ready" command instead of sic; once you hit Abyssea your charming days are over for the foreseeable future.

leech or old school is a personal choice. Since you play beast one assumes you are comfortable soloing; good thing since finding a mid-level party is not all that common. My personal preference is old school, at least to 75. After that, burn to 90 in Abyssea (1 or 2 good Ops parties will get your there) and then recap skills working on your Emp weapons and seal farming. The AF3 +2 really is worth it, and it's probably powerful enough to carry you all the way thru the 99 cap they plan to reach. Although Twilight body set for RR3 is superb for a soloer as well, and beast can wear it.

You will want to find a source for the end-game jugs, some are just stupid expensive on AH. If you've got the cooking/synergy levels yourself, good for you. If not, make friends. You'll notice one other change from long ago, Beast gets love now. People finally accept that the old XP penalty is gone, so beast and jug are welcome in parties now. Good luck, and enjoy yourself.

Once you get 76 and some decent atmas bst does excellent in abyssea. I often solo / duo almost everything I need. Some of the shouts you'll be looking for to start getting things rolling would be mega boss wins for lunar abyssites. You will want atma of the razed ruin, atma of mounted champion, atma of the Ducal Guard for a nice basic solo setup. Look into getting a mage friend for lights as Glamdring mentioned bst has a hard time building lights. Unless you get magic atmas too and /nin your not gonna be able to get azure.

While this is pretty much true for bst aside from luck at the start Nin can also build Azure and Solo TE quite effectively.

Kill speed combined with ruby lights (open azure chests) will do the trick for BST. You're obviously not going to build lights as fast as jobs who can get native Azure kills, but it can work. Magic kills aren't the only way to build Azure lights.

Also BLM. For the reasons mentioned above. Except you want to be opening every Ruby chest with pearl instead of Azure.
