    Vanabout being linked to Ambuscade causes congestion.

    Diversify the vanabout daily objective, players that want top ranking are spamming and causing congestion for everyone else.

    I haven't been online again, but did they actually make Ambuscade objectives to waste time doing silly pointless things in ambuscade again?

    LIke "cast wind in ambuscade" or "heal for 500,000 damage in ambuscade" as a daily or normal objective?

    Square-Enix really needs to play their own games and think things through when implementing things.

    They need to play like players too.

    Naoki Yoshida "playing" XIV by boosting his character to max level, then giving him self all the glamour and best equipment isnt playing the game.

    But he also says the game is so boring he is falling asleep, but he is the one in charge... you would think he would take is own experience, and improve the game, but ... I Just dont understand Square-Enix at all.

    Ambu is something people do already, it really doesn't need to be a key focus for an event like this.

    I'm not even bothering with Vanabout anymore, the objectives are just far too annoying and too much effort. I didn't last time either.

    However the reliance on Ambuscade, makes the game more annoying for everyone else who isn't bothering with Vanabout too, especially the obtain hallmarks one. Congestion creator.

    I will say the Ballista entry is a good idea, because it encourages players to do something that is hardly done normally (because the signup and participation system is so bad, really the only thing that should need to be done to do baliista as a new player is talk to the npc in the ballista zone)

    If they had a daily for fishing it would be more fun. If they had a daily based on completing an assault in a group, it would be good. There are so many things they could do, but most of the objectives are just annoying and too much effort.

    There weren't too many until today, which is a bit funny all at once:

    - Clear an Ambuscade
    - Heal 300+ Damage
    - Deal 500+ Fire Damage
    - Chain Attacks
    - Normal or Higher

    Maybe they are selected randomly at first, as a set, because I really don't want to imagine them manually setting things like Monster Rearing for the first day, which is extra nonsense due to the fact that the first day is not even a full day...

    As a bonus, the Gallantry one-time objective was replaced with a Damage Received (75000) one, which took like almost an hour total to complete as a bard...

    Certainly better than requiring Gallantry, but the damage required is just way too high.

    If we're not, then this would be the first time it's worked that way. In the past there was always a fixed set of five daily objectives that would fill in any empty spaces in your set of five. I always found that if I kept up and cleared the same slots on the same days, all of my characters would have the same objectives. Seemed to work the same this time, but I didn't watch it for very long to be sure of that.

    It's super easy to get stuck on a different set from someone else because of the fall-behind mechanic though; if you logged in at 11:50 pm JST on the first day of the round and someone else at 12:10 am, the two of you have different objectives because of the day zero set, and then you'd both need to sweep your five objectives on the same day to sync back up.

    And this is my once-per-round plea to whatever SE employees may be skimming these threads to please please please try to understand that this is a terrible mechanic. It makes it harder for people to play together. It makes it harder to participate in Vana'bout. It doubly punishes players for being unable to complete an objective by preventing them from getting points both for that objective, and for the one that would have replaced it the next day. If we can only ever have five daily objectives active at once, they should always be swapped out for the current day's set. It's only a catch-up mechanic if we can hold up to ten daily objectives, the previous day's and current day's, at once.

    Yep, pretty sure it's still the same terrible all in all, though I've not had the energy to even look at the objectives on characters that I'm not going for the title on...

    Add an xp campaign or omen card campaign, and less players will all be doing ambuscade right now.
