Ive been looking in the forums for this question but I couldnt find an answer. What kind of gear and subjob do you have or suggest when they dont want you to melee and have auto just nuke or heal?
Thanks

I have two different sets for my automaton nuking:
Maneuver set
Taipan fangs +2 Magic attck bonus +10
Animator +1
Cirque Capello +1
Buffoon's Collar +1
Abyssal Earring
Phantom Earring
Cirque Farsetto +1
Puppetry Dastanas +1
Snow Ring
Snow Ring
Potentia Cape
Demagogue's Sash
Cirque Pantaloni +1
Pantin Babouches
Then, after i have 3 ice maneuvers up, I macro to this equipment set:
Taipan fangs +2 (pet Magic attck bonus +10)
Animator +1
Anwig Salade (pet def-)
Lemegaton medallion
Abyssal Earring
Phantom Earring
Mirke Wardecors (pet Magic Acc/Magic Attck bonus)
Cirque Guanti +1
Snow Ring
Snow Ring
Potentia Cape
Demagogue's Sash
Cirque Pantaloni +1
Pantin Babouches
Subjob choice is /nin because there are times, rare, when I need to ventriloquy the hate onto me in order to avoid nasty mishaps. This doesn't happen often but it does come in handy to buy extra time and possibly kite. If I know I won't be in a position where I'd need to ventriloquy hate, then I would sub either /blm or /sch. /blm for stuns and /sch for sleeps.

Depends:
In abyssea:
You can probably ditch the maneuver set that Xiozen is always talking about, because of crour buffs and int atm. If you have +1 body you can most definitely ditch the maneuver set, and if you have +2 body I would probably just laugh at anyone who wastes the inventory space at that point.
As for gear for the pet
Taipan fangs +2 (pet Magic attck bonus +10)
Cirque earring
and any other gear that adds MAB to pet, there isnt much so dont sweat it too much.
The more important thing is atma:
MM / Beyond / Ultimate tends to be a solid combo
Out of abyssea
You may consider keeping the maneuver set it if you have no +1 or +2 body, but if you have either you can most likely ditch it.
Gear is way more important here and you will want to scrounge up as much MAB as you can for your pet since you dont get a free +80 from atma.
Healer
IF they want you to use the healer pet, theres no real gear for it as the master
For atma youll want mm/ambition/allure (or apoc) just to beef it up.
Subs
If your being asked to bring a the caster pet I assume your in an alliance and as such will never really need /nin since you wont be agroing or kiting for the most part. Just nuke 1-2 times, DAD. In most cases /sch is best for the bonus to enhancing/enfeebling skills thanks to arts, it will get you higher then blm whm or rdm and let you actually land spells.
You wont have much mp so dont get any big dreams.
to the things said above i will add some pet haste (anwig salade, ovni belt, af2 hand). all slot unused in the usual nuke equip.
Only the phoenix arises and does not descend. And everything changes. And nothing is truly lost.
I have always wondered how potent +1 / +2 were I knew they made more of a difference than hands or buffoons, but good enough to dump the maneuver sets sounds very very appealing to me since I have a lot of situational gear on my person ><. Are there numbers/testing out there I can gawk at Dfoley? very curious
I'm inclined to recommend WS Anwig Salade over a pet haste piece as Spurrer's Beret is available, Now more so than ever because the future content is slated to take place outside of the comfort of atmas ( I believe ). But then again you can always redo it when you want to. Just throwing it out there that there is a pet haste hat. With a WS augmented hat 4STR wsAcc+15 / 10acc +5atk you can have some wiggle room to bolster your WS setup.

Yeah anza and I did some testing on zam a while back
buffoon collar (regular or +1), af gloves, and body +1 all add the same amount and all stack. Think of it as 1 more maneuver before over load.
+2 body is double the +1.
So long as you macro buffoon collar, af gloves, and +2 into every maneuver (i just full time +2), you get basically the equivalent of +4 maneuvers before overload.
What I mean by that is:
- I activated
- let it sit 5+ minutes
- spammed drk maneuver (easiest for me to overload outside abyssea)
it was something like 3 maneuvers until overload with nothing
4 with just gloves/collar/+1
5 with any combo of the 2
6 with all 3
7 with gloves/collar/+2 body
awesome! thanks for the replycan't wait to complete my +2 set ><. And ditch those swaps lol, man those take up so much space.

I suppose you can if you want to max out -pdt on VE, so hard to pass up 25 acc for ws though. If you find yourself relying on VE tanking ( even better with burts nowadays ) I can see where you're going with this. If I went this route I'd probably ws using Tokon Hachimaki XD and work on a PDT h2h hmm.... good call lushipur didn't think of that. * thinks it over * Although I don't send VE to tank as often as I like, I think it would be preference...
yes h2h head for ws and h2h pdt or burts+cannibal
if only we could make dual dagger with pdt- ;_;
