    Campaign Duration/Cycle Feedback

    The Feedback:

1.) Campaigns should, at the very least, last the duration of the entire month.

2.) Significantly more campaigns should be active at once.

3.) Campaigns should cycle back around every other month.

    The why:

This game is extremely time consuming, which in ways is a good thing, but in others a horrible thing.

Campaigns give players that little "push" or "nudge" that we need to progress in certain ways.

Campaigns lasting only 1 weeks forces the entire player base into content that causes overcrowding, and makes it unenjoyable for everyone.

Not only do you feel "forced" to do that content "right now" which doesn't "feel good" but also as mentioned causes more players to do that content at a given time, causing more frustration and unenjoyment.

The feeling of being "overwhelmed" when monthly campaigns and Vana'bout are both going on falls more on Vana'bout than the monthly campaigns. There's something in the monthly campaign that players really want to spend time on - for example, double synthesis skillups or Voidwatch - but Vana'bout is making daily demands on their time that can't be put aside without just ignoring it altogether.

Rather than cutting back the monthly campaigns so Vana'bout is the only thing players have to focus on, a better solution might be to pair Vana'bout with campaigns which don't occupy as much time. Statue crusher and the Omen campaigns are things that players may want to do, but can't spend all day on - there's plenty of time to enjoy those while still doing their Vana'bout chores. Alter ego expo is something that's just there, kind of helpful without being intrusive. Ambuscade gallantry campaign is something would reward going in to do all the inevitable Ambuscade grinding that Vana'bout expects. Additional seals campaign would make the objectives which require spending beastmen's seals a little more palatable.

Surge walk, Neo Nyzul Isle, Wildskeeper Reive, and Delve campaigns, along with the previously-mentioned synthesis skillup and Voidwatch, all encourage players to spend as much time as possible on one activity that is otherwise not rewarding enough to engage heavily with. These are all choices that should never be paired with Vana'bout if overwhelming the players with choices is a concern.

My understanding was the point of the schedule adjustment was to keep people from being too overwhelmed during a Vana'Bout event, what with the campaigns and such going on at the same time, when in some respects, Vana'bout is itself a campaign of sorts.

Vanabout is maybe tops 30mins to an hour a day. Kind of a weak excuse to shorten actual good campaigns for it.

I don't like them making the campaigns shorter, it makes the game feel less relaxing and starts pushing more into FOMO. It's annoying in a game like this. Turns things into a rat race.

Can't say I agree with the shorter campaigns either. I'm less likely to participate as I could already have particular plans/goals for that week or even month (ironically the XP campaign falls in line for me this time). At least with longer ones, there could be at least one week (collective days) that I could do the campaign stuff in some form without drastically changing my game schedule/plans around.

Otherwise, IF I were to try and jam the shorter weeks in despite what I already may have planned, that would cause me to be overwhelmed (mainly trying to jam too much in a short amount of play time per day or force more time) and lead to burnout of the game.

FOMO will likely always be a concern no matter how long the duration, but at least with longer ones, I would think that fear would be less.

Good for you. Sometimes I spend hours on it, trying to find people willing to bother with the objectives that flat out require more than one person due to participation minimums, in order to get a perfect score- most people don't care about that, they'll just do the easy stuff and get all the rewards other than the title.

A week for synthesis skillup campaign is no walk in the park either. I told myself I was going to do woodworking, alchemy, and smithing subskill on my crafting mules the next time it rolled around; well, I might make it happen, but I've been sleeping four hours a night running around collecting materials and crafting to make it happen, and that's with all my fletchings and arrowheads already prepped from last campaign. I can't imagine somebody trying to do a main craft, with the weird exotic materials you need in the 90 - 110 range, in that kind of time span.

They hate adding skillup campaigns for crafting, because they know a small handful of players will grind 12 hours a day to cap things. The way this campaign should work, is instead of just boosting skillup rates in an unlimited manner to just give a set max boost amount.

Then they are not punishing casual players due to the 10% who go crazy to try cap everything.
