upgrade gear, use blink band/SS torque, try again. Or you could try either borrowing a multihit or getting a SEBW zerg setup and taking him down that way after the initial sc.

There's only two scythes of delay 502 at that level, was that a typo? Did you mean 501? If it is 502, then that may be the reason it failed, because the only scythes with that delay are level 40 and 53, and both outdated.

Personally I'd go for a Vendetta. They're really cheap these days and have highest damage for their level, which is what you'd want for this, since 2x Guillotine may quite possibly be enough to kill him if done correctly, although it would be harder at level 70. Still, it should put him down a serious notch. What Khajit said too, use blink/stoneskin before the fight, even if it just allows you a few extra hits, it may be enough, especially if those lead to another Guillotine.

However, if somehow you can get access to a Mercurial Kris for this (or Kraken Club of course), it might be worth considering that strategy. Still, 2x Guillotine should be performed with the highest damage you have on you, even after that you can switch to lower delay weapons.

^ If only that would work. XD

Some G5 fights can be a real pain in the butt, sometimes the methods of others don't work for you and you have to work out your own way of doing things, I know some folk have worked out their own method, but it does mean dying over and over. If it's any consolation a person I spoke to yesterday died 9 times on DRK before beating him. I died my 10th time on Scholar last week and am at a point of reconsidering what job I do this on, though, dying 10 times makes me want to murder the SOB even more XD.

The trouble with G5, the slightest little thing can mean the difference between life and death. So, expect to die a few times, no doubt you'll make a couple of mistakes that'll cost you the fight - some of my attempts have actually helped me learn what works and what doesn't. I probably wouldn't use expensive items until you're sure of your battle plan to save yourself money. I'd probably carry a Blink band and a Stoneskin Torque with you to reduce your amount of damage. An icarus wing will help build up TP for Guillotine. A Vile Elixer+1 will restore half of your total HP instantly, but they're 60k on my server.

It's also worth being geared up properly, I'm guessing for DRK you'll want STR, ATT, ACC, Haste and Subtle Blow gear. Subtle blow means less TP gain for the opponent, but perhaps somebody might say that it's useless, I don't know, I'm not sure how effective subtle blow gear is. Speed Belt offers +6% on haste (can be found in AH) or Swift Belt, but that lowers ATT. Maybe a Bushido Cape for your back, which gives you Subtle Blow + and enhances Zanshin.

Anyway, best of luck and I hope you win dude.

I noticed major differences in Maat fights, sometimes you go in and he is a yawnworthy cake walk. Other times you go in and he demolishes you with ease, Maat is not a static difficulty fight. His level is random between 65>70.

As others have said though, blink band, regen drinks, food, icarus wing etc
