    Yeah, no regenerating or de-spawning.

I suppose the roaming'ish smaller ones are fine, but I think I agree with that it would have been nice for the Ultima/Omega-like battles to be within a battlefield.

Also not sure it's a good idea to have things depend on people on the whole server actually do things for things to be available, as it's obvious that things will not be available once people don't do the thing any longer.

Of course in time the conditions will likely be adjusted.

Especially on busier sreevers you could do multiple limbus runs an d never even see these things and not be aware they existed unless you read the patch notes. That's the main reason. I've still never discovered the random NM or the stuff added in the last update.

I suppose it can depend on the time of day quite a bit.

Only 4 out of the 22 will be out on any given day (Earth time), or so the Temenos Operator says.

I'm guessing they do not re-spawn during said day.

Considering the speed I was taking down one's HP, I think a proper party or just a stronger solo will take them down pretty easy. Of course I didn't see yet how wild they get with lower HP, but during the high HP they didn't do anything crazy yet (aside from the high damage, with regular hits, and it was a corsair I fought, so the job will of course matter too).

Didn't look around if they actually carry any loot or anything else, like them Units we all want, but maybe not a big deal really if they don't give anything like that, just that /someone/ needs to beat them up to open up the bonus times... but yeah, it will get iffy when no one bothers.

    Alabaster/Murky Matter Drop Rate Increase

Alabaster Matter and Murky Matter at 100% drop when the gold box conditions are fulfilled is a welcomed addition.

Many of my friends, that I've cleared most FFXI endgame content with, won't participate in Limbus due to the amount of drudgery involved in the augment system. The biggest obstacles from my experience are the matters.

The amount of time it takes to augment 1 piece to R30 is intensive. The thought of multiple pieces, for multiple jobs, is staggering. This isn't challenging content, it's a timesink.

This reminds me of the irony in the "A Word to Our Players" message. In case you haven't read it, I'll attach below.

    Please consider this Square-Enix...

Also, the unique data bar fill rate is rather impractical. With the NMs only popping once per month, defeating a NM from start to finish increasing the bar by 2-3% is sadness. Not incentivizing devoting time to this content very well, it seems.

    Agreed 100% ^

Please make Alabaster and Murky Matter 100% drop regardless of chest status. It is a soul destroying climb to make and miss the matter...

So you can complain that you have nothing to do in six months. Not gonna happen.

We had a great LS conversation about Limbus last night.

The entire FFXI experience is to grind trash to fight a boss. This has been order since the very beginning. The boss, HNM, zone mega, etc was always the goal.

Old School HNM: Wait hours to clear the boss.
Dynamis: Grind mobs, clear the boss.
Salvage: Grind mobs, clear the boss.
Abyssea: Grind mobs, get KIs, clear the boss.
Voidwatch: Kill Bosses of different tiers.
Limbus 1.0: Clear a tower to get items to clear the boss. (Omega/Ultima)
    Ambuscade: Clear the boss
Odyssey: Grind Sheol A,B,C to get Segments to fight NMs.
Omen: Grind mobs, clear the boss
Sortie: Grind mobs to get KIs to clear the bosses.
Vagary: Grind mobs, clear the boss.

Literally EVERY event since the dawn of FFXI had some grind but always had this boss at the end that made the grind part at least have a pinnacle boss moment.

New Limbus broke this pattern. Grind mobs that's its. The boss part is ruined. Yes there are alliance fights but they spawn at JP midnight. So its either bedtime in Japan or mid day in the US. Most players are 30-50 years old. Very few people will every fight the bosses and there isn't a huge incentive to. Try explaining to your wife that you are home at lunch to fight Omega for no real reason.

That leaves the only the trash grind. We don't play this game for the trash....we play for the bosses.

Limbus missed that mark horribly. Lets hope there is something better coming but most of my friends barely enter new Limbus any longer, its not fun, the grind is not rewarding and its not made for the current player base.

I hate limbus, because I hate staring at progress bars.
I hate limbus, because I hate the menu system.

Choosing the right/wrong floor gives me menu-fatigue. 20% of my /playtime is probably spent in Menus!

Matter is only one of the two major lockouts for the armor. there's also zone units to deal with, and at high rank that is supposedly the limiting factor.
So ya, you can complain in 6 months of having nothing to do with your NQ or HQ1 armor, but HQ2 will still be a long ways from cap.
