New player to FFXI

Hello everyone.

A couple of days ago I decided to start my jouney in Vana'diel, I'm playing in the Bahamut server.

I was wondering if there is any Role Play hotspots or communities around Bahamut?
I played FFXIV a long long time ago, now I really want to get into FFXI, it's either that or go back to Classic WoW or maybe I will even try OSRS.
In FFXIV we had places like Gold Saucer or those night clubs where people would meet and hang out and I'm just wondering where the social aspect of FFXI can be found.

RP isn't that big in this game, though I'm sure on Bahamut or Asura you'll be able to find some somewhere. I don't know of any particular special place where people do such things offhand though. If you need a private space for your own shenanigans, it is possible to invite other people into your Mog House by forming a party with them and selecting the "Open Mog" command at your moogle.

I only asked about Role Play in FFXI because even if I'm not that much into Role Play myself I am interested to see or trey to find people/communities that still practice it here, on Bahamut of course since it's the server I play on.
I enjoyed my time in FF XIV but I have no interest in going back, I can't explain why, I just don't have the need or vibe to play it, I'm much more interested in FF XI.

What I liked and had me curious in FF XIV was that people would stuff, activities, social aspects, outside of the game's grind like dungeons, raids MSQ and so on.
We could find people hanging out in certain places like the Gold Saucer or in some night clubs, now I don't come here asking that FF XI would be the same as XIV or WoW, I already noticed that XI is a game of it's own but I was just wondering if there is a social aspect in FF XI, where people like to hang out in certain places, if there is this "night life" in XI as well where players socialize in certain spots and yes if it's possible to find Role Play communities as well.

Yeah, no I understand. There definitely is some RP in XI. It just never became as huge as it got in FFXIV. The mog house is honestly too small (even with the seperate second floor) to get real creative with (like how people make bars and restaurants and night clubs with FFXIV housing). There's a good amount of "glamour" gear these days though, so you do have options as far as getting the look you want to for RP purposes.

I wish I could help you but I've never noticed a particular social hot spot or place where people go for pure social engagement/roleplay. Of course, I'm on a smaller server so it just isn't that much of a thing. It could easily be very different on Bahamut or Asura, the two with the biggest NA population.
