Missing Dark key after cancelling Interaction to Balga's Dais

I thought my game lagged because it stopped for a moment then I pressed cancel upon checking the Dark Key is missing in my Key Items

Mission Name: The Emissary (Windhurst)
Location: Windhurst - Heavens Tower
NPC: Kupipi
Item: Dark Key

Repro Steps:
1. Receive the Dark Key from Kupipi
2. Navigate to Giddeus - Balga's Dais
3. Interact with the circle
4. Press the cancel button multiple times
5. Notice the cutscene will not play
6. Check inventory - Key Items

Actual Result: Notice that the Dark key is missing (Tried to rethread the quest still unable to get another dark key)

Hello, please read the below and check it carefully, as there are two likely situations:

1) you skipped a step in the mission
2) you completed the quest and forgot (possibly due to changing nations as well) and are either not at this point in the mission or potentially past it
3) You or someone with you is not on or has not completed the correct mission (see below)


Please check and make sure that Journey Abroad (San d'Oria) or The Emissary (Bastok) is your current mission and that you currently belong to the corresponding nation. A common problem is someone starts this mission and doesn't finish it, and then changes nations and forgets about it (or does the other nation's version of the mission). You can confirm current nation in status > profile or by searching for yourself.

Please also retrace your steps, starting from the beginning of the mission and carefully following each step one by one to ensure you didn't skip or miss anything, as this mission has many steps.

Additionally, if you are in a party with anyone, they must also be on or past the mission to participate and must also go through all steps if they are on the mission. If they have completed it, they must also be on the nation they completed the mission on.

It is extremely unlikely that there is a bug here, this mission has been present since the very beginning of the game and has been completed by millions.
