Error 2059 and 4001 Since Server Update

It could just be a coincidence but this is a new issue for me that crept up after the last extended maintenance to update the servers. About every three days I will get disconnected with either error 2059 or 4001. Once it happens, my connection will suddenly drop constantly for hours. My internet connection seems otherwise stable outside of XI. The game basically becomes unplayable and I have to pack it in for the day. Through Discord and other means, I've learned that I'm not the only one that has had this start happening recently. Has anybody else noticed this? Is there a solution? Thank you.

Though it could be a server issue, I'd still advise using a VPN and testing different nodes to see if a routing change helps. "my internet is working fine elsewhere" is not really an indication there's nothing wrong.

It's not hard to do and it could rule out any issues otherwise outside of both your and SE's control.

Yeah this has happened to me as well. However, this first started for myself and my static members on April 7th, 2025, during the morning time which was a couple days prior to that long server update on April 9th, 2025. You can actually see posts about the situation on reddit on the 7th from lots of people. A lot of us were under the impression that it was due to a potential DDOS, and that the abrupt 8 hour+ server update was in response to that.

Plenty of my Odyssey and Sortie static members are still experiencing ongoing issues with getting disconnected during our events and with having issues logging in after the disconnect. It became noticably worse after the server update. It had gotten bad enough where one of our members changed internet providers and another switched from Wifi to ethernet cable to see that would help with the disconnects.

Unfortunately I have no real tips/solutions that I can provide. Hoping they do address this soon and explain what happened.
