    Merit (Max. total ability increases) 25 Group 1 & Group 2

    Merit points play a big factor in support roles. (Max. total ability increases: 10) Is far too limited for how the game should actually be played. Allowing Maximum merited abilities in these categories would fulfill job expectations. Limiting a jobs ability worth becomes much too big of a disadvantage. That's why it's best that we level the playing field and give all job abilities a (Maximum: total ability increase: 25)

    I completely agree. I always thought it was interesting that Weaponskill category can increase from 15 to 25 via Deeds ...but there is no such improvement for Group 1 or Group 2 Merits.

    Now, it is very clear that Red Mage's group 2 merits offer the most variety of any job, so Red Mage's would get the biggest improvement from increasing group 1 / 2 merits in this way.

    I personally believe that "Job Adjustments" are not done, even if SE says they finished it. Beastmaster isn't a front-line DD yet. Ninja's Magic utility is really questionable (and one of the Legs AF is allegedly not working correctly).

    SE could or should spend another 18 months doing 1 job adjustment per month (Job adjustments for SAM, COR, RDM, BRD can be minimal such that is is included with another job, or let's say face it: these 4 jobs don't need any corrective adjustments, like the other 18 jobs).

    The merit point limitations do seem like a vestige of outdated design choices. When merit points could take days to earn, they were a key point of differentiation between characters (though even then, certain builds were accepted as the only right way to set up those jobs.) Now though, you can collect 75 merit points in under an hour, and completely reallocate a job to suit a specific situation... really, what's the point in giving us that busy-work? It's not a challenge, it doesn't feel like a meaningful choice, it's just a chore that needs to be done before doing something worthwhile.
