Issue with waking the colossus quest

Hi.
During the quest "Waking the Colossus", I do not get the cutscene by the Imperial gate to get the key item "imperial missive". I got the first cutscene at Naja Salaheem, but after that and when I clicked the Imperial gate, the game crashed and now I do not get the cutscene. The quest is flagged as active in the quest log and I cannot proceed further in the questline. Also, I do not get the cutscene by the Audience Chamber in Ru'Lude Gardens which should supposedly come after the cutscene by the imperial gate.

Steps:
I got the cutscene from Naja Salaheem in Aht Urhgan Whitegate.
When I went to the Imperial gate and clicked on the gate, the game crashed on me.
When I logged back in, I get a message from the gate saying it's firmly closed.
The key item "Imperial Missive" does not appear in the key item menu, and I do not get the cutscene again.
The quest "Waking the Colossus appear" in the quest menu as "Current".
I try talking to Naja again, and all she says is a long dialogue ending in - You've still got a hell of a large debt to pay off!
I do not get the cutscene in Ru'Lude Gardens by the Audience chamber which should come after the cutscene by the Imperial gate.

This might be an actual issue from what you've described. But just for sanity check purposes, I'd still suggest retracing your steps again and see if you can't progress. Make sure to talk to every NPC / click on every thing twice.

But just in case you are, make sure you don't have any external tools going when progressing quests with cutscenes, as they can cause crashes. But even if hte game crashes during a cutscene, normally, it acts like you never did it when you come back, rather than completing it.

I would also contact a GM (though they'll probably just tell you to post here) and file a support ticket since this is less a bug in the game itself but something of an edge case caused by a crash most likely.

From the quest walkthrough, it doesn't sound like a state should be able to exist where the quest is flagged without having the Imperial Missive key item. This one sounds like a genuine bug.

To be sure though, you're certain you don't have the key item? It should appear in Temporary Key Items, just a bit after ZNM seals, mog kupons, and mini-expansion keys, just before abyssites and legion tomes/medals.

Thank you for your responses. I have tried to do what you suggest and I will post a couple of screenshots.

I have loaded the game with the original game client and the same thing happens.

I have scanned through the list a couple of times and I cannot find the key item. It's hard to pinpoint exacly where you mention, but I found a couple of moogle cupons and where I also have a clear abyssite.

You have, in your screenshot there, the Present for Megomak, which you recieve later on in the quest- AFTER the cutscene in question and the imperial missive. Try proceeding from the step of the quest where you recieve it.

You couldn't have this key item without doing the stuff you say you're unable to do now. You're on a different step of the quest than you think you are.

Oh..
Ok, that did the trick. I feel so embarassed that I did not notice that.
I clicked the acid eaten door in Mount Zayolm and I got the next cut scene.
I must have gotten some other cutscene then from Naja in the first place.

I'm glad that checking the key items again got you to a solution.

Situations like this are why it would be nice to have a slightly more in-depth quest tracker... but of course, that's far too much to ask for at this point in the game's life.

The game wasn't really designed with that in mind- basically every quest would need to be updated to make its objectives trackable. It would be amazing, but yeah, that's not going to happen lol.

Yeah I can relate to this. I think I was just confused about it when I got a cutscene fron Naja and the game crashed by the gate. I have been stuck on this for two days so I am very thankful for the help you both provided.
