not to mention if you pay your statement balance, it becomes a tool of convenience that in many cases, you're being paid to use lol. I use my cards every day for everything. But a lot of older people especially still have the mentality that cards are only for big purchases.

Personally, the way I see it, if can pay fully, why need CC? Hence was relies mostly on debits. Plus they have so much promotional sales stuff, it's quite a headache. Did however quite recently getting my own CC due to family needs, plus certain promotional sales that's currently beneficial, but still relies on debit other than that.


But yea, can understand your situations, I do have more than 1 account, with main savings elsewhere in case something happens to the other I'm using as spending ones. Not sure if this also available, but... where I am now, can already make new accounts online without needing to visit banks, or non bank virtual accounts like AmazonPay which iirc should works for Square purchases/payments as well, thus can allocate spending funds there without making your mains vulnerable. Would assume US already have this longer than mine, but cmiiw.
