Accessibility feature: Activate RoE via command line?

    Hello SE!
Could we see a way to activate or deactivate accepted Records of Eminence quests via command line? I have poor eyesight and for me, entering via command line would be so much easier. The command line could be very simple too:
    Code:
    /roe [set|unset] # # #
Each # would be the index into a submenu or quest. For, setting "First Step Forward":

1st Entry in Objective List (Tutorial)
    1st Entry in Tutorial (Basics)
1st Entry in Basics (First Step Forward)

    [code]
    /roe set 1 1 1
    [code]

For "Obtain a support job" RoE, it is under Tutorial (#1 in Objective List), Quests 1 (#4 in Tutorial) and finally "Obtain a support job" (#6 in 'Quests 1') would give us:
    Code:
    /roe set 1 4 6
Of course, the command set or unset would activate or deactive the RoE respectively.

If you could also increase the RoE from 30 to 50, I would be so happy.

my vision's none too great either, but I don't see how this helps accessibility. I may or may not use certain... things to improve HUD visibility, but the chat log and text entry box are in the same font and size as the quest menu.

I'd rather they do a whole updated UI for higher res displays. The existing UI was designed for 640x480 and the party windows and parameter bars are too small and lack contrast on modern screen resolutions. There is third party stuff that can solve that, but it would certainly be nice if I didn't have to consider things that are questionable under the rules to be able to comfortably enjoy the game.

There is a UI scale in the config tool but this makes the UI pixelated and crap to look at.

Yes, but we're never getting an updated UI. At least with a command-line function I don't have to interact with the menus and attempt to read the truncated text in the menu box.

Well we're never getting this either but we can both dream. But I'd rather dream for the best solution to a problem when all are equally unlikely.

If you think all dreams (or all solutions to a problem) are equally likely, then you have delusions of grandeur or schizo-affective disorder.

you speak of delusions but you didn't cite me correctly- I said "equally unlikely," not "equally likely"

And they are. The chances of either are effectively zero. Your idea is a fantasy, as is mine. But mine would produce better results in the fantasy world in which they could exist.

I don't really see how text commands make something that's available in a menu with text that has the same level of readability is even an accessibility feature in the first place. It's closer to automation that would facilitate botters more than it would enhance accessibility.

I'm all for accessibility, but this idea doesn't accomplish that.

I imagine the number of botters who would make use of a command-line RoE tool would be close to zero, because they already have a third-party option that works better.

For players who do follow terms of service, that would be really handy, navigating the RoE menu is clunky especially when you need to set, say, 15 objectives at a time (looking at you, psyche NMs.)

Considering a UI revamp would require a graphics designer and would need to touch basically everything that menus do now, while command-line RoE would be a one-dev task that would cost probably* a half hour plus however long it takes to untangle the spaghetti of the existing RoE framework, it seems really pessimistic to call the two equally unlikely. UI overhaul is an "absolutely not", new command is just "highly unlikely."

(* barring a "PS2 limitations" problem where there simply isn't room to add a new command to the text parser.)

I'm not familiar with any third party tool that automates RoE.

If RMT do RoEs, my assumption is they simply do the repeatable daily challenges, especially Gain Experience since that's by far the easiest way to generate sparks.
