You can get KI for the other zones if you happen to fail one. 1 KI per-promy zone.

I recommend going to the 30 caps as PUP with valoredge frame, does not matter if you are not geared, just need an animator. Overdrive (1hr) and do fire, fire, light. Eat grape daifuku. 1 PUP can solo, 2 is unstoppable. If you’re still nervous you can also quickly farm an anima item for the fight.

Of course it's not fun. If you want fun, go play Super Mario or something. FFXI is a game for grown-ups, it's supposed to be a second job that you pay for the privilege of doing.

Game(s) is a part definition of fun, kinda defeat the purpose if it doesn't. Also, when does FF in general being marketed as adult games? afaik, this particular game alone wasn't.


Regardless, unless this Vana'bout has something critical ties to it, which personally heavily doubt, one can just ignore & do other stuff. Just like how FF14's PVP content were not for everyone's cup of teas, most ends up didn't mind if missing major league rewards & only rewards those who does invest on it.

I notice none of you have defended it as actually fun lol. To each their own. At least Odyssey was added to it today.

Fun is very subjective. I've enjoyed *some* objectives, while others are just anooooooying.
We're all 11 players, probably veterans, our fun is our pain.

I'm going to have to jump on this Vana'bout train.

The rewards just aren't balanced in terms of invested time required for them.

The **only** situation where Vana'bout is worthwhile is if you need deeds "right now."

Great for newer players, but honestly any other option just isn't worth the effort.

Maybe if you just really dislike Abyssea, you could have fun doing this, but that really is the full limit to these rewards.

Only way I'll do it again in the future (intentionally) is if they add a full REMA step option, such as Catseye as a reward.

Otherwise, this content is not worthwhile to me at all since I do not need deeds.

I love the objectives and they are super fun, but outside of that, its a total waste of time.

You know what would make it feel more worthwhile overall? If the current reward tiers remained, but there was also an option to spend plaudits on things like discontinued cosmetic content. I decided 750 plaudits was enough this season, but I'd definitely want to push for 2000 if I could get the Pictlogica paintings and moogle mount for 500 plaudits apiece.

Pfft, for you maybe; for most players it was over like a week ago. Why try to over-achieve when one missed goal means you're not eligible for the title anyway?
