what are the 3 best ATMAS to use in to survive i would like to know?
It's all situational, i personally use:
Soloing:
Atma of the Lion
Atma of Sea Daughter
Atma of the Sundering Slash
Party:
Atma of the Lion
Atma of Voracious Violet
Atma of the Sundering Slash
NM:
Atma of Stout Arm
Atma of Voracious Violet
Atma of the Harvester
This are the set ups that works for me, but im sure, many DRG use different combinations, depending on activities doing. Hope this can help you ^^
To be perfectly honest the best combination of atmas for DD for DRG are:
Atma of Voracious Violet
Atma of Razed Ruins
Atma of the Apocalypse
If I'm soloing something that hits hard or fast, I sometimes sub out Apocalypse for Dragon Rider for that Wyvern HP+50% which adds a few hundred HP to my Healing Breaths.
If you're going for survival, I recommend
Atma of the Ebon Hood(HP+30%)
Atma of the Impregnable Tower(HP+30%)
Atma of the Dragon Rider(Wyvern HP+50%)
This should give you well over 3.5k HP and assuming you have a full Wyvern HP gear set(Ostregers,Lancer's Pelerine, Lancer's Earring, Wyrm Armet, Wyvern Mail, Drachen Brais+1 and Homam Gamberies) as well as 1000 wyvern exp, your healing breaths should do about 1000-1200 without deep breathing. If you macro in HP gear before you trigger healing breath, you should have about 4k HP for the brief moment in which your spell is active, meaning you're 50% HP trigger window for Healing Breath activation will be at 2k HP and almost nothing in Abyssea can one shot you at 2k except Caturae.
Also, eat Carbonara for a free 180ish HP boost.

I generally go with these for NMs, solo, etc:
Atma of the Gnarled Horn/Voracious Violet (depending what I'm doing)
Atma of Razed Ruins
Atma of the Apocalypse
Except for extreme situations I see no reason to even have to use an HP atma (such as soloing NMs) I generally have just a tad under 3k HP in my normal TP gear here, and while more is nice for bigger healing breaths, they already do 6-700 w/o deep breathing once I've gotten 1k exp.
From what I've seen HB tends to drop off a bit after you get a certain amount of wyvern HP though, as I can get close to 1500 with no HP atmas at all, but only 1871 with all available gear, carbonara, 3 HP atmas, DB, 300% TP etc.

You realize that's nearly a 2k HP heal for 0-5mp?
Reiter, I would be interested in seeing your precise gearset, macros, etc. that you are achieving nearly 1500 HB's without deep breathing or HP atmas.
I never said 1500 w/o deep breathing, that was pretty much the max it can hit WITH deep breathing.
On all 2 Handers, there's basically nothing better for DD than
VV/RR/Apoc
With Caladbolg DRKs being an exception.
This is particularly useful for DRG because of Drakesbane, being high STR mod, a crit WS, and everything is sexy with apoc.
It provides easy TP building with VV, and allows a lot of ways to go around the high stp cost of a 5hit, along with capped fSTR and DA to boot. RR provides huge spike crits and high crit rate, along with capped dDEX. Apoc gives Reraise III along with probably the best TP atma (TA +15%) AND gives you HUGE spikes on your WS's (Apoc is the reason you see 6k Ascetic Fury and 8k Ukko's Fury and the like).

This my max on Deep Breathing with 0 Wyvern TP.
I used Atma of Impregnable Tower/Dragon Rider/Sanguine Scythe so I could probably get WAY more than this if I replaced Sanguine Scythe with Atma of the Dark Blade(HP+40%) for +20% more Wyvern HP than Sanguine Scythe. Also I did this with 0 Wyvern TP and without HP food. I assume with HP food on, I can use Lancer Plackart+2 instead of Wyvern Mail for 150HP over 65HP.
My base without DB was around 1100. Which is a Cure VI for 0-5 MP and Cure VII with Deep Breathing.
