They changed this so they wouldn't have to update it. The year was also removed from the copyright on the title screen as well.I also notice the screenshot water mark changed: fire that person, they left out the years.
You know there's about a million ways to take screenshots without using the game's own screenshot feature right? Most notably, hold ctrl-alt prt scn, this will bypass that and it also only captures the active monitor instead of the entire desktop if you have a multi-monitor setup. You can also use snipping tool available in every version of windows since at least 7, which provides you with more features such as only capturing a window or a specified region of the screen, and you can use a delay feature so that its easy enough to use the software to capture an action moment. Both of these mechanisms will work regardless of any particular cutscene, including the ones in question.Also: fire the person that disabled the screenshot taking during cut scenes. No more high employees. >.> Or management or shareholders for that matter, your disappointments are out of hand.
This is really a pretty silly thing to go on an angry rant about. Instead of getting mad about them over their screenshot feature, just use one of the many available workarounds.

It used to be impossible to take screenshots during cutscenes at all, since it wasn't possible to hide the UI. They added that ability not so many ages past.
From a quick test, the in-game screenshot-thing seems to work for me when re-playing both, Duke Alloces' Decision(pt.1) and (pt.2) cutscenes, except for the moment in (pt.1) where they do the map-like image overlay thing, which I suspect this is about (would be nice if they shared full-resolution versions of those parts by the by, or at least the full images at some point!).

...or so the legend says.
Personally, would love to have screenshot feature without having limitations here & there.
I know there's workaround like Ctrl-PrintScreen, or snipping tools which fortunately more easier to use per Windows 10, but this won't help when trying to take successive shots during cutscenes, mostly during fast-paced actions, something I really enjoy doing especially on FF14, unless one can pause the scenes which unfortunately cannot.
And yea, one can apparently do that using "third parties". But it would be really great if this actually supported without using them, unless... no workaround on "PS2 limitations". ^^;
These are windows features and will always work regardless of anything the game or any other software tries to do. Now, it's possible. to intercept the keystrokes (i.e. what keyloggers do) but it's extrodinarily unlikely that something like this would be employed by SE.I know there's workaround like Ctrl-PrintScreen, or snipping tools which fortunately more easier to use per Windows 10, but this won't help when trying to take successive shots during cutscenes, mostly during fast-paced actions,
