Announcing the May Version Update

Good day, adventurers!
Fujito here.

The temperatures in Tokyo shot up dramatically from mid-April, with tulips that were just baring leaves not so long ago now blossoming with bright red flowers due to the recent warm weather. I hope all of you are enjoying the changing of the seasons wherever you may live. However, there have already been days exceeding 30 degrees Celsius (about 86 degrees Fahrenheit) here, so it'll be important to protect against things like heat exhaustion that don't usually occur until later in the summer.

As you probably know, FINAL FANTASY XI welcomes its 22nd Vana'versary in May. Considering it's a multiple of 11, I think it should be a pretty easy number to remember! We have prepared a variety of ways to celebrate this joyous occasion, so I’d like to take this opportunity to go over them with you.

First, we'll be launching a Return Home to Vana'diel & Discount Campaign on Friday, May 10th. I hope those of you that have been away from the game for a while will take advantage of this opportunity to come back home to Vana'diel for a visit. Please be sure to let your friends know too, as the journey home is always more enjoyable together.

We are also planning to air a new episode of Freshly Picked Vana'diel on the 10th as well. In it, we'll be covering a variety of topics, including news on the latest version update and also a brief overview of what's to come for FINAL FANTASY XI in 2024. We've also invited a special guest to join us on the show, so it’s sure to be an episode that you won’t want to miss.

Additionally, the next version update is scheduled for Monday, May 13th. This time, Ambuscade will feature the return of Tonberries and Pteraketos. Also, as a special anniversary bonus, a Golden Bomb will appear as part of the Pteraketos battle, making it a good chance for you to earn some hallmarks!

Furthermore, a battle that will serve as the culmination of the Master Trials is also coming. Who is this mysterious opponent that will require adventurers to use all of the skills they have honed over the course of their journey? I hope everyone is looking forward to the coming update.

Starting on Thursday, May 16th, we will be launching Round 2 of Vana'Bout in celebration of the 22nd Vana'versary. We've made a number of changes based on everyone's feedback from Round 1, and we're also hard at work on some new campaigns for the overall rewards as well. Going forward, exemplar points will now be awarded when the overall goal is achieved, so let's all do our best to complete the objective!

Finally, we are also preparing a number of monthly campaigns, so I hope you enjoy all of this month's festivities as part of the ongoing celebration.
