Probably a better solution would be to drop PS2 Support.
I am all for this, I really dislike the hairstyle I chose after a few years and would like to change it up to a different one. I would probably even pay for this feature.
I realize it would be hard to add new hair styles and new hair colors, but the ability to swap to the other color version of your current style should be easy. Changing to a different style would also change your facial structure, and that would be a bit much probably.
I'm tired of being a white-haired mithra, and not a day passes where I didn't wish I was red-haired.
And yes, I believe the extra storage stuff is pretty much a workaround, and that's why we never got more than 80 items in a single storage thingie. Only two sets of 80 can be brought up at any given time, because more than that would require too much RAM for the PS2.
If you wanted to add new hair color options, each version of these hair colors would probably need to fit in the PS2's RAM at all times, same with new face/hairstyle combinations.

I'd love to at least be able to switch between the A and B styles. The only problem I see with that is that some eye colors don't match up, but that's pretty minor.
I chose the taru with the cool silver hair, but then when my friend said that it looked like old, gray hair, I suddenly liked my taru a lot less.
I haven't even noticed different hair colors having different eye colors.
Nothing a Melanin Mage can't take care of!
I'd even pay (assuming it was a menial fee like $1-2USD) for the chance to change my head and hair. I can understand SE's concern over potentially offering gender or race changes due to all the race and gender specific gear, but since the head/hair is just aesthetics anyway preventing us from changing seems unusually pointless (IMO).

I would love to change my hair style! looking at the same one gets boring after a few years. It would be nice to have a change.
