My char Rydstrom was deleted but before he left to join Altana he made drk look good without game breaking gear. No apoc redemption cadalbolg. Merely a fully merited well played drk who knew how to hit just as hard as fudo sams and ukko wars wiithout the top end gear they had in and out of abyssea. Drk is a job that requires timing more so than any other job in the game timing on stuns timing on absorb TP must WS at 100 because guillo gets no dmg bonus with tp. If you time it right you can execute big dmg wipe saving stuns etc. so...here are my ideas based on this.
Job Traits
Dark Aura: Gives a chance to terrorize the current target when the target readies a TP move or casts a magic spell. % rises upon successful stun when target is readying a TP move or casting a magic spell.
Scythe Mastery: upon obtaining the maximum skill level with scythe (merits and skill only not gear) you unlock all Weaponskills with the weapon type. (i want this for all jobs with A+ skills in a weapon or the highest rank.) the reason is simple as content like nyzul gets outdated the chance to get a reasonable floor for new players greatly decreases also some players play solo alot why force them to join LSs just for a cool WS?
Dark Celerity: increases the speed which dark magic is cast.

Carnage: 1 min duration 5 min recast while active each critical hit landed makes the target bleed for 10 dmg per tick. Each additional critical hit adds 10 more dmg to the Carnage effect.
Riposte: The next blow you take will land for 3x dmg. The attack or spell you cast before unleashing Riposte will have its duration or effect tripled. example dread spikes will stay active for 150% of your max hp instead of the standard 50. absorb TP will steal 3x the tp it would normally. Duration 1 minute Recast 5 minutes
Chaos: do you remember FFVII? Vincent Valentine was a gun toting Drk but a drk none the less. Duration 1 minute Recast 120 minutes. Once activated you become a living nightmare all attacks deal critical dmg and receive a powerful attack boost and am HP buff however the drk becomes bloodthirsty and can't be healed or buffed at all and receives the following status ailments: Mute Bind Amnesia Defense Down half of current def. PS this is designed to let drk zerg again.
Spells

Terror: target receives a chance to be terrorized for 5 seconds. effect and duration effected by Int. (think paralyze but longer effect and lower proc rate.)
Plague: applies the following effects if not resisted. Bio 3 Def down Atk down mag def down mag atk down critical hit rate down critical hit evasion down. strength duration and resist rate based on Int
Bio 3
Virus (US FF2 anyone?) Deals dmg based on Int and Mab and applies a Dot of 50% of the original dmg dealt.
WS
Upon triggering Scythe Mastery you unlock the following WS: Varda's Rage: 6 hit WS that deals Critical hit damage. Aftermath: Magic Attack Bonus and Attack Bonus. WS mods 50% int 50% str.
these are just examples of some of the things on my list for drk. some are wacky and different but i ask you to think about them as rough drafts that need refining.
