Did it ever mean anything? I remember even back to 75 days, people were TP burning everything post TOAU and it was really easy to get multiple jobs to cap. Then when they came out with level sync, forget about it, super easy. So really EXPing is not and has never been a metric for determining if someone is a good player... Who cares if they allow trusts in there, those fights against Maat were never difficult lol.
If SE wanted to, they could completely change how do get XP. They could put us in an instance of Cirdas Caverns with Nyzule objectives and have that become the predominate method for earning master levels.
The current meta of "just standing there" is a symptom of play-styles that don't favor or include certain jobs. It's almost as if a multi-boxer with 3-4 characters has a better chance of making progress than someone who is shouting on the most popular job. That's SE's fault. Not the players.
A very small suggestion: Job-specific bonus for Odyssey Segment farm. Every 24 hours, a new random job is chosen, and if you party with that job, you get +20% Odyssey segments, Sortie gallimaugry, Nyzule Tokens, Bayld, etc etc. etc. This will cause party compositions to change potentially and create a more active and dynamic group setting.

Yeah the same handful of actions over and over and over. It wasn't really rocket science, more like busy work. So not sure why you are using that as some kind of test of skill lol. Also there were plenty of leech parties back in the day. There was SMN burns in Korrokola, hell some bards just sang songs and sat there and didn't pull lol.
I agree about the bot situation, but at the same time, if content had a significant engagement or replay factor, people wouldn't just stand there. For example: proc'ing mobs via a certain ability or command is a great way to make sure players are engaged. Imagine FF7 battle arena-style content, but after each fight, you had to time an emote correctly to proceed to the next monster. After 10/10 monsters and 10/10 debuffs, you get a gold coffer to open.
See? I just created content that is replayable, has variety, can't really be botted due to the 10 random debuffs inflicted (once per fight, and they stack). Yes, the rewards could be better than a random RNG-fest. I prefer building towards something AND random gains.

You dont always have to create content that is not botable.. you just have to police the actual game which they don't seem to care to do. There are bots in every single MMO, leeches in every single MMO, etc etc.
I don't have anything to request because I do not believe my requests apply to the current state of this game. Maybe just opinions. I mean when I came back and tried this game one more time and... depression hits. I can't believe it took me so long to realize it. I do believe the condition of the community and our hearts is very important coming from me who has played on an unofficial server. Third-party tools are significantly important given by the rules. All bots, rmt, mercs, /yell spams, trusts (maybe?), bullies and some bad things should be forbidden. I mean... the magic of fun is that it negates the work. If it's fun, it doesn't feel like work. Remember that the opposite of play is not work, it's depression.
