Please please please dear god SE,

Please let us non-japanese players have the option to type in Japanese! I know the japanese client is run on the windows IME (I live in Japan, I've been to internet cafes where they have the JP version of playonline. It always uses the windower IME (although of course japanese computers have a special key to toggle between roman and japanese instead of having to press alt+shift or whatever).

FFXI supports microsoft's IME, there is no real substantial reason why english clients can not utalise microsoft's IME. Yes, we can type in roman characters to japanese players, but it is never the same. For example, what if I say to a japanese player "yasashii!" What do I mean? Do I mean　易しい or　優しい?

The lack of IME support does nothing but segregate the japanese players from the international players. It's a very sad thing.

What are you talking about "Windower" IME? The Windower IME just enables the IME in non Japanese clients.
