Is there a good reason that Scythe has been abandoned for Beastmaster and Black Mage?

Abandoned? You saw the ambuscade scythe, right?
These weapons are rebranded relics, and those jobs weren't on Apoc. They certainly didn't abandon those jobs on scythe in the 2000s, lol.
It's a bit obnoxious to look at something, want it just for the sake of it, and then proclaim your arbitrary desire not being met is some abandonment.
The Damage on that Scythe is "OOOOOWEEEE!!!."
This should outdo the Kaja line.
Scythe BST is very powerful, but guides like Killer Instinct: The Beastmaster Compendium are not hip to it yet. SC gear + /thf Scythe BST in INSANE closing SC. The Raptors shine with Scythe SC BST.
On my 3rd account (I think); the addiction is real (Monsuta-Man & Beastrizor).
Now that I think about it... kinda wonders how AA Taru wielding scythe instead of staff, which should be BLM's strongest weapon grade skills while scythe only at rank E.
Guess devs were only thinking to make him looking more ominous while branding a staff doesn't makes it more menacing, though there's already wicked designs of em, but I guess there's also tech limitations, hence scythe being given as the simplest solution to make his portrayal as is. Too bad this became one of reasons why this topic arose. ^^;
And on that note, BST even has higher job skill rating for scythe usage, which its ranking being C- are quite high enough. Unlike FF14, where weapons are tightly designed to one particular job, there's reasons why FF11 jobs can wields multi-type of weapons, where most general cases is for proccing.
Frankly I'd consider B to be the bare minimum to be useable in endgame, you just have too much of a stat deficit to overcome beyond that point.which its ranking being C- are quite high enough.
