Barspells?

I'll be honest, after building a barspell set over a period of time and thinking about it. I don't really see any difference. Barblind and you still get blinded for 2 minutes. How exactly is it meant to work? Does it reduce timers or create a small chance of said player resisting?

You want the most potent bar spell possible.
