So when an artist copies a song and changes a few words around or copies a piece of art and simply draws a smiley face on it, according to you, thats ok. I really fail to see how you don't understand how it could devalue the original. Its essentially a free visual piece to copy the original and it cheapens the original for sure. It isn't perfect, what would be perfect is the example Pixela gave on the previous page. Make the shield rust colored or "old" and add that face on it. That would be perfect because its a different model and funny. This is the first time in the games history they've taken an item and copied it almost exactly and placed a smiley face on it for login points. The only other known instance is probably the Mindmelter staff which was essentially a recolor of Nirvana, which people also had problems with. Who knows if the people that voiced their disgust for that decision ended up stopping this from happening again until now.

WHY, do you feel the need to be right and stamp out any opposing opinions? Why do you continue to tell people to "get over it" or enforce your opinion like its the only one that matters? This is specifically for Spicyryan and Alhalem.

We are leaving our opinions for them to read, its about the only thing that can be done. The only ones POSTING here, barely anyone posts on this forum except the same ~10 people including you. Everyone else is either in game or doesn't want to involve themselves because they don't want to deal with people like you who are shaming or actively discouraging people from leaving their opinions.

This being a cosmetic item doesn't matter, people have different opinions. YOU get over it, you are literally wasting space by posting here and being contrarian just to oppose peoples opinions

Trust me, I don't think anyone dissuade you from leaving your steamy opinion on the floor whenever and wherever you want. Don't be such a contrarian, Draylo, lol.

The main reason I, Immortal and others are arguing things, is because we are aware most XI players will never engage even if they do care about them becasue this is just how it is. You have a handful of people who will make a fuss and everyone else won't, they will just quit the game in silence if they get doomed enough. So either we keep on arguing for things and against bad ideas or the game goes down the drain really fast with no resistance.

Most people will never complain when the game takes a negative turn, they will just stop being customers. Those people are why it's still profitable, it's important we keep as many on board as possible.

A game like ff11 that has lasted as long as it has (with a sub!) continues to succeed for a set of important psychological reasons, and if they undermine those reasons the whole house of cards will come falling down really fast. Undermining achievements is one of the best ways to destroy the will to engage with the games long winded progression / achievement systems. Just as undermining the serious tone of the game with "zany comedy" will start to chip away at the thick mystique / lore / feelings veneer that people have about the game and instead start to view it purely as a video game, and if that happens it's a 20 year old ps2 game and it's not going to hold up in the cold light of day anymore.

This is why I worry about things like Shadow Lord head mount, or Altana and Promathia garden pets or this stupid shield that apes something previously people held in high esteem.

The serious tone of the game, the way the developers always tried to make the game feel like a real place with real history and how they almost never broke the 4th wall is why so many people still hold it in such high regard. Even something like an Ambuscade dungeon had some people writing some lore as to why and how it exists in vana'diel, when most games would just say it's a dungeon in a video game go kill stuff.

I mean, that's perfect. If they aren't even visually the same, then as far as I'm concerned there is no problem whatsoever. Plus anyone with a real aegis has probably afterglowed it and thus it will glow and this thing does not. It is not hard to identify a real one.

I'm not wrong. If you can tell them apart, there is no minimizing of anything at all period. Frankly you shouldn't even be fooled at maximum visible range.

Any minimizing of accomplishment occurred years ago when they changed old dynamis and made getting relics stupid easy. This glamour item does little to nothing to change that. If you wanted to complain about this sort of thing you should have done it back then if I'm being honest with you. At that time I could underastand feeling like your effort was cheapened. but today even the real thing doesn't take that much work.

This 100% that's what I don't get I said anyone who really cares has afterglowed it I didn't it for the glow it's not like arch names lord I'd hard I can one hit him on my war with rag and resolution lol

Nobody cares about your afterglow, none of it is impressive. Its the principle and idea behind the item. Ask yourself, are you ok with every REMA being reskinned as a lv1 lockstyle item? If you are, you probably don't care that much about this game.
