Announcing the March Version Update

Good day, adventurers.
Matsui here with your monthly dose of FFXI news.

The sunny days fooled me into thinking that it was getting warmer outside, but the cold winds are as biting as ever. I might have to wait a little while longer for spring to be truly upon us.

Let’s dive right into the March version update.

First up is part one of the 11th and final chapter of The Voracious Resurgence. The story resumes at the Mog House in your home nation...so perhaps we can expect a certain you-know-who to pop up. The final installment of this chapter is currently slated to go live in May, and we’re working feverishly to bring you a wonderful conclusion to this thrilling tale, so bear with us just a little while longer!

This month’s Ambuscades feature Sahagin in volume one and porxies in volume two. The sahagin battle features an adjustment to silence effect durations on the boss and a removal of cumulative resistance to status ailments, with their retinues respawn timer being lengthened by a bit. The porxie battle feature a decrease in monster HP, so both volumes should be a little bit easier than the previous go around.

We’ve also got an update to the term filter, which was first introduced in February. You are now able to choose whether you would like terms to be case sensitive or not and whether terms can include or exclude spaces. This features is quite powerful once you get used to it, so take a look at the version update notes in a few days for more information.

We’re also ready to launch our updates to the Sortie queueing system. Up until date the queues were on a per-instance basis, with players being automatically sorted into the instance with the shortest line. With this adjustment, everyone is placed into a single line and are assigned to whichever instance opens up first.
