I hate exemplary parties

Many players like afk leveling, fighting against that as developers is kind of silly.

XI players loved book burns, abyssea worm parties, summoner burn parties and now afk leveling.

I have never played PLD, but I kind of want to make one now for Crawler's Nest (S) cleaving.
If I play RDM/COR/SCH/GEO, I have something to do in the party, but if I go any other job, I'm just a leech.
A party only needs 2 of the above mentioned to function for cleaving, but they all require PLD.

Also, I enjoy exemplary parties. Who wouldn't? Everybody loves a high quality party, whether you are getting experience points, limit points, capacity points, or exemplar points. It's a lot of fun to make a lot of quick progress with several other skilled players.

I haven't had many exemplary parties in my 18 years of playing. I have had plenty of bad ones and a lot of good ones too. I've had a few great ones. But I've probably had fewer than 10 parties I would call "exemplary". Which is okay, because exemplary is a high bar.

Last month I tried to put together a traditional party in Nest, but people kept asking "is it AOE?" Pissed me off after a while because my whole goal was to get master levels for my Monk.

MNK can use the Ambuscade Staff and use Cataclysm. And if nothing else, MNK is also a fantastic puller. Like I said, no job really needs to be a "carry" in Crawler's [S].

Ambuscade Staff.... you mean Xoanon? The thing you need a pulse weapon for? I do have capped staff skill. I also have over 40,000 potpurri. And I unlocked all the categories of stuff you can buy with potpurri. So getting the pulse weapon won't be a problem. And some years ago, I collected all weapon skills just for fun (except the relic ones.... since you need the relic to get them). It wasn't exactly a practical decision at the time.... what good is it knowing Leaden Salute if you don't play Corsair or Ranger and have no plans to do so? And I'd never heard of a Monk actually meleeing with staff.

Things that were impractical to do in the past, that I did "just for the hell of it" are suddenly practical. Now I just need them to make old Einherjar equipment good so that the TWO Balrahn Eyepatches I farmed up just to give to a goblin make sense.

Yes, Xoanon is the Ambuscade Staff. I was using it last night on MNK and doing just fine. Up to 4 L40 at this point and MNK will be #5.

someone does this to our parties too occasionally. Just ignore it. You're taking tons of mobs, they'll pull like 15 off you with that -ga.
Also, you're solo'ing this? why? bring friends; only PLD can pull the whole doughnut. Letting a few others leech give you the capitol to ask each of them to PLD cleave for you another day.

when people do annoying things I just associate it with them being asshats and not get mad at the game
