    Overhaul Dark Matter Augments

    Increase the allowed max stats, allow other gear to be augmented such as certain HTBF rewards.

    This is major content, and when you add new gear that is either easier to get or harder to max you invalidate workhorse effect content such as dark matter.

    Please don't. Random augments are awful and need to never be used the way Reisenjima stones and dark matter are now, ever again. Skirmish stones were nice, maybe something like that would be good in the future.

    But further emphasizing an augment system which requires players to expend a half million gil's worth of resources every attempt, with no guarantee of even "what you wanted but less of it", is more than anything else an amazing way to drum up business for the real money trade industry. One can easily spend a thousand fern stones without getting the result they need, and those have a far narrower scope of options; do we really want to encourage requiring half a billion or more gil to make a single piece of equipment because suddenly that's the new need-to-have best-in-slot option?

    A) a lot of people like them
    B) it's popular content when they do campaigns

    Content with long legs should be preserved.

    It's popular not because we like the random augment system but because we simply can't get those stats elsewhere at all. there is no other option for my GEO looking for Pet: Regen+5, or my BLU looking for Phalanx+5.
