Level Sync in Master level breaks trust AI with players at /49

    Platform: any
    ISP: any
    Type of Internet Connection: any
    Internet Connection Speed: any
    Date & Time: December 29
    Frequency: Always
    Character Name: any
    Race: any
    World: asura
    Main Job: any
    Support Job: any
    Area and Coordinates: any
    Party or Solo: group
    NPC Name: any
    Monster Name: any
    Steps:

Create a party with Master level players and someone at /49, level sync the party to say /50 and the trusts won't cure the /49 players at all. Trust won't recognize players in the party at /49 when synced to a master level setting. When you unsync, they recognize them and cure them again.

good catch. did you check to see if it's specifically people with a 49 sub or if it's any sub level below the player's maximum?

Nothing "slipped through the net" they purposely programmed it that way. There are zero conditions in which a trust ignores a party member. Except this, which means it was done specifically with intent.

Except th is, which means there is a bug or an oversight in the programming. Just because you think a trust "never ignoring a party member" means that there is no possible way th at could happen, doesn't make it so.

This is FFXI we're talking about. There have been countless things broken by other totally unrelated things over the years.

Somewhere they specifically wrote don't interact with M/49. If they didn't then it would be an issue with any M/** It doesn't happen at M/48 it doesn't happen at M/15 it doesn't happen at M/50

That is exactly the opposite of accidental.

Think about it. Somewhere in the code exists a line that says "under this condition completely ignore a player" that line of code shouldn't exist under any circumstance in the first place. The fact that it ONLY works on M/49 is the accident. They had something worse in mind and failed to do it properly because of course they did.

I know you're trying to attack this from the angle of being a programmer and doing things that would make sense for a programmer to do, but if you've really played FFXI for as long as the rest of us, you'd know that they did and do a lot of things that don't make sense.

They can change how a spell works and then suddenly fishing is broken. I'm not kidding. You can try to rationalize this all you want but again, it's SE. Just because something happens, even if it never happened before under any other that doesn't mean it was deliberate. The trust system was designed way before Master Levels and sync for them was added. it is absolutely possible for some unexpected and oddly specific interaction to occur between these systems. It in no way implies any kind of deliberate connection.

Ultimately though, there's no point in arguing about it. The person or people who check the reports will make that call.
