    Visual Status Effects

    If there's one thing I wish FFXI had was visuals for status effects. Other than text on the chat screen, your character never goes through any animation change like in other Final Fantasies. Sleep/Low HP doesn't get your character kneeling...poison doesn't either have the green bubbles or, even more retro, change your color to green...etc...

    While I'm more interested in visuals just for cosmetics, it would also help identifying who has what status on them without hoping you didn't miss it in the chat log.

    Silly request, probably, but figured I'd give it a shot and see what kind of feedback I'd get.

    I actually really like this idea and think it would be an awesome way to make better players, which seems to be the general complaint of most players. People think no one is capable of playing their job correctly, which is true for some. Anyways, I think it should be something that could be toggled on/off like weather affects. Otherwise, all the miscellaneous animations could lead to more lag in some of the already inundated abyssea-related zones or places like Jeuno where people warp to after a battle and still have status affects on them.... One complication, though, would be mob TP moves like Bad Breath that inflict multiple status affects - what to do about those?

    That's an excelent idea, specially when we need to heal status ailments, its a pain to focus on curing, hasting, converting, elemental sealing, etc, etc, and sometimes we miss that logs, an animation would make our jobs easier to perform

    I'm not a high level WHM but it does ruin the game somewhat when I'm having to scan a load of text to see who I need to -na.

    Another issue is that there are so many mob abilities that don't even tell in the log what status they inflict, or whether it takes effect or gets evaded. Rather than an animated icon hovering over a character would be to place a small icon by their name in the PT/Alli list. This will probably upset those who use third party programs to add more info to the PT lists, but that's not my problem.

    Another thing I have wanted for a looooong time is the option to move the PT list to the left side of the screen. since we read from left to right it would make it much easier to watch the chat log and the HP bars at the same time.
