    [dev1009] New Trigger Conditions for Notorious Monsters (Questions regarding new HNM)

    To foxyclon and the devs,

    I am curious about one thing. It's nice to see you guy's are making things casual and toning down pop timer for NMs but will FFXI ever see world spawned NM/HNMs again?

    You guys are pretty much taking away what little there already is to camp and I'm very curious if in the future you guys are considering adding new world spawns outside the instanced measure for people who enjoy camping NM/HNMs.I'd like to know what your plans are regarding this. There is a base of people who do enjoy camping and would like to see more introduced.


    (this is NOT anti HNM thread. If you wanna comment on that, please visit the other hoard of threads dedicated to it. I'm asking a question in regards to the new updates, if you want to contribute keep the BS drama/complaints out. We have enough of that already)

    I kinda figured this might happen, at least now it gives us stuff outside abyssea to do. My assessment of this situation is this: kill off the # of old HNM to camp to make room for the new world spawns that are comming. But yea, id love to see a dev say "Yes, there will be new world spawns (21hr+ or longer)" or "No, were not doing that anymore" at this point they already know the answer, id imagine at 99 they would add at least 1 or 2.

    Natenn wasn't specific. I am very curous about the camping aspect of ffxi. Although there is/was a lot of issues with it, as you can see with responses regarding the changes, I'm interested in seeing what they have in store for for campers/hunters. It was a huge part of the game, one that was enjoyed not just by jerks. Notorious monsters/campers was a huge player base, not just for HNMs either. It was fun. I don't want this turning into another ANTI HNM thing. This is not about that.

    There is going to be complaining/unhappiness with anything and everything they do, you can't make everyone happy. People still complained about kings even after odin was released and einherjar was gimped/toned down. If people want to complain, theres lots of threads for that. I'm interested (and others as well) in if SE will introduce new NMs/HNMs to keep campers and world spawners busy and happy. It's quite clear they have a dedicated team targeting the less competitive player base, and thats nice. I'm happy for them and im sure whatever they add, even if it is world spawns that require hours/days of camping, they will add alternate means or some other measure to ensure they get a chance at the gear.

    The days of gear being exclusive to camping world spawns is over. That is a fact, but killing the camping aspect and world spawns or not adding new ones that are worthwhile to campers as a whole would be dissapointing to me and others.


    Honestly, they could just make them drop a fair amount of gil and i'd have fun just camping the rare monster.

    I don't understand why they are getting completely rid of the nm spawn timer method. I might not have the time to do the 21-24 hour timed spawns or the timed spawns like Khimaira and Tiamat, but those were extremely fun when I did have the time. You get the competition from other linkshells and fighting them was almost always fun. Nms don't have to have that long of a timer, but there could definitely be mid-tier level nms that pop every few hours or something. Going to a pop method only for Nms is extremely boring, and it takes the entire fun out of exploring and going through zones. There are people who whine about timed nms, but there are a lot more people who are against just going to a completely pop oriented method for ffxi. Why can't there just be a balance between the two? First it was basically all timed nms and now heading towards popping nms only. Balance, yes please.

    I approve, If killing off the 3 kings to make room for the new HNM is the plan then that would be awesome. I love camping HNMs and I hope the "new HNMs" won't be this trade a pop to a "???" system.

    hates sky farm farm farm for pops to fight an nm couple times a week ...
    then zeni farming OMG no thanks i farmed a few K points for a few tier 1 pops for an item i wanted but never again pain in the butt no thanks.
    lol now makes you wonder what pop items are really gonna be needed for dynamis now don't it hope u got lots of beastmen seals maybe LOL
