What am I looking at? other than fan based animation/art-work last uploaded/updated a year and two months ago?

God I'd hate Unreal Engine for Final Fantasy. Never was a fan of that engine and usual un-optimized mess.
And it doesn't even look that good, had to say it.
It's an engine. It's not made for just one kind of game. I will concede that it is most effective in FPS land as that's what it was originally built for all those yerars ago. But UE4 and beyond have all kinds of tools for every kind of game. UMG allows even 2D games to be built pretty easily while using modern particle effects and other nice features. What you have is a misperception of what it's capable of today. 10 years ago, I might agree with you, but not today.
Multiple MMOs have been buiit on Unreal, as have multiple RPGs, side scrollers (bloodstained being one of my favorites in this category), puzzle games, and more have all been developed on it.
It does not perform well for MMORPGs, it was not made with MMORPGs in mind. The only people that use Unreal Engine for MMORPGs are Korean developers, they do so because it creates beautiful worlds, characters and is cheap to use, but it comes at the cost of performance issues that simply cannot be fixed. Hitching, stutters, loading issues with lots of characters. Using UE for an MMORPG is like using a sports car to pick up the groceries in a busy town, it's not the best choice.
MMORPGs usually require a custom engine.
Also the youtube channel in OP isn't making a game, they are just making zones to wander around in.
It doesn't have to be. When used properly the engine can do whatever you want it to do. Again, MMOs have been made on the engine and they perform fine.It does not perform well for MMORPGs, it was not made with MMORPGs in mind.
Even FFXIV isn't running on a custom engine. It is of course substantially modified (and anyone who has a license to use UE4 can also modify the engine) but it isn't an engine of SE's design. They tried that with 1.0 and the engine was shit, even though it was supposedly made with MMORPGS in mind."
You're just bashing unreal engine without any basis. I've been working with it since the original version and all of its major iterations. I know quite well what it can and can't do and what you can modify it to be able to do.
Unity is no more "made for MMOs" than any other engine. Engines just provide the tools, it's up to the develoeprs to properly leverage them.
