Every MMO I've played has sales on bulk purchases of product currency.
If I buy £10 or £100 crysta it costs the same, this is bad business sense isn't it?

The difference here is Crysta is meant to be treated exactly the same as your normal currency (i.e. 100 Crysta = 1 dollar). Offering discounts on it would be unfair to people paying with credit cards.
Crysta is purely intended as an alternative payment method- it isn't used to purchase ingame items or anything like that, unlike all the currencies you mention.

I wouldn't mind a once/year sale on Crysta. Even if it's just 10% off the price or 10% more crysta for your money, etc etc.
They won't since you can use Crysta on Mog Station over FF14 now. Which means can be used to buy cosmetic. SE won't pass on an opportunity to earn easy cash.
