    Are certain Melee jobs ever going to get Critical Hit Weapon Skills?

    There are quite a few jobs in abyssea that feel severely underpowered compared to others. Take for example I have a 90 Samurai that has full +2 empyrean and I also have a 90 Ninja which is gimped to all hell. It can almost do as much damage as my Samurai (and sometimes outdo) due to Critical Hit WS's and Atma (Blade: Jin in particular). My Samurai is fantastic outside of abyssea but inside it is slightly annoying being out damaged by myself on a gimpy job. Lol.

    Any thoughts? Does this happen to you?

    SAM was 10x better than every other DD for years, and SE just kept buffing them. I'm a bitter, bitter DRG who had to stand by and watch as AH geared SAM/WARs out damaged my pimped out DRG with second tier polearms and B+ skill.

    No please don't change this. SAM tears are delicious.

    Some jobs are simply not as useful for some events. This is no different. Adjusting jobs to fit for a single event/zone (which will likely be low priority soon) sounds kinda pointless. Also, a good SAM can still excel inside Abyssea, maybe not as much as it was before, but can still be better than most wannabe DDs, even with good gear.

    You're giving up 10% haste that is applied outside of magical and equipment haste caps so yes it's a huge difference. And the more haste you have the bigger the difference will be because haste isn't linear.

    if you lose 1 "tier" of x-hit, that's WS frequency -20% (6hit => 7hit) or -25% (5hit => 6hit).

    Hasso is some minor STR boost (damage+<1%), acc+10 (if used, 5%+ damage increase, if not then meh) and Haste+10% (15%+~ damage increase). Meditate is some minor damage increase on the order of ~3% depending on how much you hold TP. Zanshin is minor but there. AND it gives you defenses.

    /sam absolutely rapes /thf.
    Copypasting myself from a DRK thread. /thf is gimp and your friend is gimping himself by using it. Think of overall damage, not pretty numbers.

    I have no sympathy for the bandwagon jumpers who rode Samurai in the Aht Urghan years and couldn't hop off fast enough when Abyssea was released. To my mind, Samurai don't really need Critical Hit weapon skills. The skillchains cover that amount of damage. Of course, that would require some knowledge of skillchains, right wagon jumpers?
