    Widescan upgrade

Can we add Coffers martello's flux's and stuff like that to widescan.

Also i would like to introduce a new option to the widescan menu of actually typing in a specific monster.

Example: /map > widescan > Hunt then a text box opens and i can type Black Merino

Now it will show me all the black merino's in my widescan range. And if i exit and type /map> widescan hunt option will already be highlighted and when i push enter the black merino will still be entered until i change it.

I've wanted a feature like this also. I don't think you would type the mob name however. Most likely it would be a 3rd button on the little list beneath "Remote Scan" and "Track".
If it then filters the names and dots on the map to just the mob type you selected. It would be an incredibly useful augmentation to the widescan trait.

What I always wanted in widescan is the ability to filter for a specific mob without finding it 1st and using track. Yes, this is for NM farming mostly. I think Rng should get it too. To keep it from ruining balance I would suggest you only get it when your WS job is main, so make it a trait we get at 50+. we type in something like /widescan "Jaggedy-earred Jack" and if up he immediately goes into track.

I presented it as a third button in the /map section where u could type the name, but filters would also work fine. This third button would show a master list of all possible Scannable targets on this map and provide the option to turn this target on/off. Once a target was turned off it would no longer show on the normal widescan. This way you could go to the third button and turn off all the npcs and each scan would only pull up monsters. Or turn of NPCs and each normal monster u saw and then scan would only bring up Notorious monsters. Basically this way watever u turned off wouldnt show up anymore. You could always go back to the master list via the new third button to turn sumthin back on again.

@glamdring Thats basically what i said.

It would be handy to have /widescan as a command tho.
And yes i saw it as a 50+ upgrade that works with widescan. Altho i dont think ranger should get it. Ranger has some of the fasest claim JA's in the game. They dont need this kind of upgrade. Don't want to argue about rng either. If u think they should get it, post a similar thread in the ranger section of these forums.

I just felt it should be a widescan trait, period. Easier on the developers to roll-out if they are using the same software for both jobs, too.

Filters would be nice, or target scanning like suggested above. I hate when I am randomly wide scanning area to see if any nm's are up for fun (mostly death warps). Then checking the list I get npc's and a wave of bastion mobs which to me just fill up the wide scan list with usless things.

    That sounds great!

I'd like to further suggest an option for filtering claimed mobs. How many times you ran halfway across the zone just to see the mob you're trackin already bein killed?

Obviously, you'd want to see claimed NMs, but having the option available would still be wonderful for pretty much every other situation. After all, everybody's widescan just keeps gettin bigger and bigger . . .

If Bsts could join up and form one huge, Voltron-esque Mega-Bst . . . our gun would fire Seeker Bats.

    yeh. good point.

Widescan getting larger isnt much of a boon if we have to wade thru the entire zone of mobs to find the one were looking for. Filters on it would be so handy. Allowing us to actually reap the benefits of having a wider range.
