I previously used a gamepad, several models (Logitec F710, ASUS, several very old ones) and they worked just fine. Windows 10 has the annoyance of making everything an XBOX virtual controller, because Microsoft.

Since the September Windows 10 update, I have not been able to get any controller to work in FFXI. in the FFXI controller setup, no controller gives inputs. I could at one time get a PS4 controller to vibrate in the FFXI controller test, but no buttons or directional sticks would register.

I am trying to get my new PS4 controller to work. I have tried it with DS4, I have uninstalled playonline and final fantasy and reinstalled them with the new installer. The only change is that now i cannot get even the rumble function to work. This seems to be a result of windows hooking the inputs form the controller and pushing them to the virtual xbox controller, as the virtual controller shows input in windows but the actual controller shows nothing in windows.
I am not using a third party launcher, just the polboot.exe or pol.exe.

Any suggestions?
