at least you don't have to rely on day/weather, status effect, or elemental damage requirement. Three words: Abyssea, Fell Cleave. As for mandies... lol. We slaughter them by the hundreds in attowha and thorangi when we run a fell cleave, even if you don't want to go that route--there's like 30 or so pop spots in boyhada tree that are EP or DC at the most. Just remember they went done pretty quick when I was doing trial there -- befrore hitting 90.
