One of the earliest quests I remember doing was "Hearts of Mythril" in my earliest days in Bastok, and I remember well the scary, monster-strewn path I had to walk all the way up to the top of Vomp Hill in North Gustaberg. Once there, you see the eerie sight of many gravestones in front of the large monument to the lost miners, and it really drives home how tragic the history of the mineworkers and Galkas in Bastok was and is. I am very fond of Gustaberg in general, being a loyal Bastokan, but Vomp hill is a place that always sticks in my mind, so sad and remote. Players spend so much time fighting monsters and fulfilling quests on the ground level of Gustaberg, while the memorial on Vomp Hill looms in the distance - like the overshadowing memory of the sacrifices of the Galkan miners that formed the bedrock of the Bastok we know today.
