Register a EU credticard on a NA client [Problem]

My Visa card has expired and i need to register a new card.
The problem is that i live in Norway and preordered the game from US before it was released here. So i have to use a US game client.

The US game client require 3-D authentication to register new credit cards. And it only accept US credit cards. As far as i know teh 3-D authentication system is not in use in norway, so there is no way i can register my credit cards for payment. I've talked with someone from Square Enix in the Live chat on the tech center but there was nothing he could do to help me.

Any help would be appreciated. I've been playing since game release and would like to keep playing.

The 3-D authentication method of paying for FFXI has not been a enjoyable experience. Many of my friends were not able to pay for this game and either quit, did not join, or paid me the money and I used my credit card for multiple accounts. I think that the 3-D authentication method should be changed if that is possible. I am not well versed on why they added it though so I might be missing some important information.

The only ways to register a card that isn't 3D secured to an American account are to call the phone number for the American support center and have them add the card manually, or to register the card with an American PS2 or Xbox 360 version, as they don't have web browsers and thus can't pop up the verification page.

They added it because RMT was buying the American game in bulk to make characters, and China doesn't have the security protocol commonly available in thier country, where the majority of RMT was located. The Japanese version was also updated to decline cards from non-Japanese banks, further hurting RMT, as well as importers.

in other words - We dont want to post our rude and unhelpful answer in an open forum....please call us so we can tell you your S.O.L. -
everyone who bought the original JP release has the same problem. Either pay through some wacky 3rd party prepaid site like webmoney, or lose your account. i have never seen a company intentionally make it difficult for people to give them money like SE.
