Sometimes I can't help but wonder if this isn't seriously just one big experiment Krystal's conducting.

Sometimes I wonder if Krystal is actually Krystal, and not just some random asshat trolling us all for a laugh. The quality of the troll is way to high for anyone like rog though.

Most players i see online now at days noob bash every chance they get...refuse to help others...and just down right have no respect for other players in general. My linkshell chat has had more than 20 messages in the past week in it reading"Omg! i'm dead here and this *Insert class with the ability to raise others here* runs right by and does nothing after i send them a tell asking for a raise!" or something similar. and you can't say "well maybe they couldn't?" when most players now at days are wearing their AF3 which is a dead give-away of what job they are playing at that moment. and if they don't have the ability to at least cast Raise 1 they need to be shot on the spot for being an noob and burning their job to 90 without getting ANY of the required spells for their job.

Players invading a party's camp and killing the mobs they are obviously exping with thus reducing the exp flow and refusing to leave when asked nicely. players MPKing other players. ya i've seen it...many of the "new job abilities and spells" have MPK potential. and the GM calls go ignored.

there are many other issues but to get into them would cause yet another troll bait thread so i'm gonna keep those out of this one.

The point of this thread is i am worried about the path FFXI is on as a whole. not just the game itself but the players also. i'd really hate to say it but FFXI at this moment reminds me alot of WoW. not the game itself totally..but the players mostly. the game only reminds me a little bit. At this moment between rude players and updates making this game easier which attracts those types of players...FFXI is gonna go down in flames at this rate unless something is done.

I think you're wrongfully accusing the player base as a whole on these problems. For every person you see be an ass there's probably 20 others who aren't. They're never noticed because the asses are vocal because they need attention.

As far as the bit about raising goes, it's not another players duty to fix your mistake. Why are people obligated to raise you outside of group activities? It reminds me of the shout match in Jeuno the other day. People couldn't shut up about paying for warrior cleave, like it's a warriors duty to PL your butt for free and for as long as you need them to. Then there's the whole lame argument about leeches making poor players yet somehow the Abyssea alliance exp doesn't, but I won't get into that non sense.

My view of raising is simple. If you can't be bothered to use RR then I can't be bothered to raise you. Sometimes that means people get shafted when they are using RR but died as soon as they got up, but such a thing is so rare to happen outside of group activities that I am not going to assume you got shafted. There's so many ways to get it now that it's inexcusable not to have it, and I suspect I'll get hit by lightning before I pass someone who needs raise because they died after getting up from RR. If all I ever do is raise you then you'll never bother with using RR, and will start to grow dependent on a raise.

Nothing irritates me more than having someone beg for raise because they screwed up and they want YOU to take a time out from what YOU are doing to FIX it. No thanks. I'll raise you if I feel like it. If I don't, don't take it personally and bad mouth me behind my back. Learn to use RERAISE. Everytime I forget and often I do, I homepoint my butt because it's what I deserve for forgetting. I expect nothing less of everyone else.

RR scroll. RR FoV. RR earring. RR2 neck. RR heart rod 24 hour. RR heart rod 10 charges. RR3 rod. RR spell. RR2 spell. RR3 spell. Bard RR song. Scapegoat RR. RR med. RR2 med. RR3 med. That's all I can think of off the top of my head and there may very well be more.

Lastly, I imagine the reason GMs started using auto response and such is because 1)some probably moved to FFXIV, and if not then 2)they got tired of dealing with crap from players. Crap like people thinking it's funny to waste a GMs and everyone else's time by faking a call only to ask them a stupid pointless question. I can't imagine them ignoring legit calls to solve a positioning problem and such which is basically their #1 job for the game, is to fix stuff when things go wrong with #2 being to enforce the law like dealing with disruptive behavior. Everything else is pretty much a waste of their time.

Iunno what population you're seeing... might just be your server. Honestly, the majority of people I talk to are generally well-mannered and get along well. I've had a few idiots, like those who like to shout completely incorrect information and lash out when corrected politely, but for the most part there's not a lot of "noob bashing" going on.

As for raises, it was already stated - there are a lot of ways of having RR up that if you do not have one, it is your fault. You shouldn't expect people to stop for you and raise you when you're the one who made the mistake. Besides which, it is easy to suck up the small EXP loss and take the 5 minutes to get back to where you were; honestly you'd probably spend more time complaining and/or begging for a Raise and then waiting for weakness to wear off. Mistakes happen, move on with life.

Also, shoot people on the spot? Now we're begging favors off of CORs or RNGs too as well as asking for Raises. =(

Yellow is fair game. It's not polite etiquette, I agree, and most people will frown upon it, but at the same time no one gives you the divine right to those mobs at that camp. Learn to share, and if you don't like it? Simply go elsewhere. They have just as much right as you do.

Do tell how they have MPK potential. Impetus, Despoil, Blood Rage, T2-circle JAs, etc... I see no MPK potential. I'm curious to see how they'd do it now, please enlighten me.

Where in the world did you get this idea? I submitted a lost item report, a GM responded to my call within 2 minutes, I decided during the ocnversation not to have an item restoral (since its 1 time per account unless due to a bug). A few days later, a GM sent me a tell otu of nowhere to follow up on my original request- i explained I changed my mind about it, but he was able to confirm that I did accidentally drop the item. After that, he (SGM Emdub) appeared in front of me in port jeuno and waved/saluted at me then disappeared.

They don't just help people if they feel like it. They help people however they can within the rules that govern their involvement.

Players have always been greedy after gear, thus why there has always been LS drama. Sure, new players who might've just gotten their first highest lvl job or close to that are more likely to help out since they're new to the game so everything in the game excites them while veterans want to become more and more powerful on their characters.

I've heard about other players go through the things you mentioned and also witnessed some of it on my LS, but fortunately for myself I have a lot of helpful friends and even some on my LS who will help me out when I ask and in turn I help them out too if they need it so it's a fair trade off. If you initially make the move to help others out, they in turn most likely will help you out. I'm not saying everyone will help you back, in fact, maybe only 10% of those people you've helped may help you back as most people have their own agendas and goals in the game, so patience is required in this game just how it used to take longer to obtain things. If you are veteran of FFXI you learn to have this patience to wait for people to help you and the patience to help them as you build a relationship with certain people.

Fortunately, most things in FFXI can be solo'd, duo'd, trio'd so not a whole lot of help is needed for much unless you want to tackle a tough NM with a whole alliance or if it's an atma/piece of gear many want. I personally like all the new changes that have been done to the game to make it slightly easier. Accomplishing more in a short time makes the game more enjoyable too rather than accomplishing something maybe once a week or once a month. While playing the game for 6-7 years I've seen how long it can take to get something and back then I didn't even want to join anything end game because that length to obtain a piece of gear turned me off, so I enjoyed doing my own things in game with whoever I can find wanting to join me.

People ingame haven't changed a whole lot. There's still the idiots and there's still the good players. I guess it depends on who you encounter and play with.

I am worried that we are going to leave the choose your own augment and atma world that was the best that ever happened, and return to junk like Fafnir, generic mix armors, WAR+RDM+BRD only parties, etc.

So yea, worried that the game will swing back on the old bad path, not continuing with the good things.
