    How many worry about the path FFXI is on right now?

    I myself am worried. Between all these new expansions and updates making things easier and easier while also neglecting some of the issues that matter such as "Updating Old areas to give them new life" and "GMs not bothering to help players IG anymore unless they feel like it" and not to mention the player-base's attitude with each other IG. Most players i see online now at days noob bash every chance they get...refuse to help others...and just down right have no respect for other players in general. My linkshell chat has had more than 20 messages in the past week in it reading"Omg! i'm dead here and this *Insert class with the ability to raise others here* runs right by and does nothing after i send them a tell asking for a raise!" or something similar. and you can't say "well maybe they couldn't?" when most players now at days are wearing their AF3 which is a dead give-away of what job they are playing at that moment. and if they don't have the ability to at least cast Raise 1 they need to be shot on the spot for being an noob and burning their job to 90 without getting ANY of the required spells for their job.

    Players invading a party's camp and killing the mobs they are obviously exping with thus reducing the exp flow and refusing to leave when asked nicely. players MPKing other players. ya i've seen it...many of the "new job abilities and spells" have MPK potential. and the GM calls go ignored.

    there are many other issues but to get into them would cause yet another troll bait thread so i'm gonna keep those out of this one.

    The point of this thread is i am worried about the path FFXI is on as a whole. not just the game itself but the players also. i'd really hate to say it but FFXI at this moment reminds me alot of WoW. not the game itself totally..but the players mostly. the game only reminds me a little bit. At this moment between rude players and updates making this game easier which attracts those types of players...FFXI is gonna go down in flames at this rate unless something is done.

    anyone else notice this? or is everyone else blissfully unaware or ignoring it? if your blissfully unaware count yourself lucky...>.>;

    Most of your complaints have been issues since CoP came out. I don't see these problems as a new threat that's going to kill FFXI seeing as it hasn't killed it in the past 5 years. Yeah, it sucks when random people in game won't help you out or even show you respect but it's the internet and that type of behavior is common. You'll find nice people as well, just not as many.

    What you described could very well just be classified under "Basic Human behavior under effects of anonymity."

    when people have no real fear of repercussions, they act a way in which they might not normally act in the real world.

    This has been a problem since Day1, Of basically any MMO ever created, or anything ever created where large groups of people interact with Anonymity.

    I really hate it, But I don't think its FFXI Centric, So I'm not entire too worried. unfortunately you just can't force everyone to be nice

    Sometimes I can't help but wonder if this isn't seriously just one big experiment Krystal's conducting. Being a psychologist and all, that would be her job; running and analyzing experiments like this. I'm not sure what the heck the premise would be at this point, though. "A treatise on the effects of long-term trolling of an established online community"?

    That's actually a great point Greatguardian; that would explain basically every thread that Krystal has made. Maybe we can petition SE to remove her trolling since it's obviously against the ToS.

    In all seriousness, I think you're overstating any problem that exists recently, as the "problem" has been around since day 1. If anything people are more willing to cooperate now than ever before because the content itself isn't limited to long respawn timers, and it doesn't lack availability to everyone.

    In short, just another "Krystal" thread. Nothing to see here, move along, etc.

    I've found people in game to be nicer than ever. Some dude gave me a scorpion harness... like just cause he wasn't using it and I am a BST...

    That was going on when I first started playing with the NA PS2 release. Shoot, when I started, people would drag an NM to Selbina and zone just to watch it mass rape all the low-levels in the dunes. Please stop using examples of things that have been going on forever and then act like the sky is falling.

    Didn't even have to be NMs, could be a few gobs, a bogy or 2, anything. Happened all the time. Wasn't funny back then, but sure is funny looking back at it now, lol.

    "Omg! i'm dead here and this *Insert class with the ability to raise others here* runs right by and does nothing after i send them a tell asking for a raise!"
    Well most people dont need or want raising these days when you can usually get back into what you were doing in less than 5 minutes after a homepoint. Having said that I do try and raise people when I see them dead, if im able, not that you see many corpses littered around the place these days. In fact, with the close proximity of all the content in the current game and the ease at which exp is gained, id say this problem has far less impact than it did 5 years ago. In many cases, hitting the Home Point button becomes the right answer, particularly in Abyss.
