Logitech F310 Gamepad Misfiring (ghosting)

My logitech controller is able to be placed in Direct mode and X input mode (with a switch in the back),

when its in Direct input mode, randomly when i press confirm , it will press confirm twice (ghosting) and this is really really annoying.

When its in X input mode, I am unable to config FFXI to reconize the left and right triggers for using macros. So I set it to the Left and right buttons instead and scrolling through my macros it again randomly closes my macro page, (as i need to hold down the macro key while pressing buttons on the Dpad)

I havent had this problem with Direct mode until recently...

Well, I bought a Xbox 360 afterglow controller and installed XBCD and now it working great, (otherwise the trigger keys wouldn't work right), so i guess my controller must've been broken...

What is your Windows version?

The Xbox controller works peerfectly in Windows 7. I don't see the point in installing extra software for the triggers to work. They already work.
