Um? No, this game isn't meant to be easy mode. Improve your mog sack, or learn to manage your gear better. Elemental gear should be situational; just get gear that has Magic Damage Taken -X%. Coral/Merman Rings or earrings are a good start. Look up MDT gear and you shouldn't have to get TOO much for a decent magic set.
And if gear swapping is the problem? Learn to macro. Because if you're WSing in Haste gear or sacrificing Haste pieces for WS mods during TPing, then you need to go join Naturebeckles on the Haste thread. >~>

-_- no thanks i dont want to carry stupid gear with no stats only for element resistance i dont see the NM change their gear while we hit them why should we
It's not stupid, it's supposed to be tactics. This isn't easy mode, where you can wear the same outfit for everything. Swapping gear isn't that hard.

Really? No, really??
Nobody is FORCING you to swap gear, it's your CHOICE to do so. But you'll gimp yourself if you don't. And there is such a thing as -MDT gear btw.
And this is a "request" that is guaranteed to never happen. Why on earth do you insist on making thread after thread demanding SE to change every damn thing that's a minor inconvenience to you? Do you really expect SE to make these changes?

I was trying to be nice to him but if you (OP/readers) want MDT and such you need to macro, MDT has a cap of 50% ( and added with shell) MDB does not cap and max ele resist you are looking around 320 total ( people useally do not gear for resist though a good whm + a resist + atma like that one that gives +100 fire and some MDB with some simple MDT rings/ twlight torque is more then enough.)
I'm thinking more outside of Abyssea. In Abyssea you can toss on Future Fabulous, Zenith, and Earth Wyrm atma (if you're willing to gimp your DDing potential) and boom, you have huge magic defenses. Elemental ones are situational.
But OUTSIDE of abyssea, that 50% MDT could be useful. I personally do not have a MDT set due to storage space limitations and lack of mules, as well as eight jobs leveled and highly geared, but that has been my downfall more than once. It's not that hard to swap six pieces of gear in on any job using a basic one-button macro. 2x Merman's Ring (8%) + 2x Merman's Ring (4%) alone are simple-to-get pieces that apply to all jobs for a sudden 12% off of magic damage. You just have to press the button when you see a non-instant spell going off. So hard.
Please don't contribute to player laziness.

Capping MDT is ridiculously easy with Shellra V and a modicum of effort. There's no reason to add MDT to everything.
Oh right, I forgot Shellra V. I don't take a lot of WHMs with me when I solo. =(
Shellra V, at 5/5 merits, gives ~27.5% MDT. So combined with the simple rings/earrings, that puts you at nearly 40% MDT. This just further supports the point.
