First, when you read this, you might think I am against the idea, I am not. But I have a concern or two.
How are Items being planned to stack?
Is this update just Stacking items that typically did not?
Or is it extending stack amounts? say to 25, 50, 99?
Are we talking a very narrow band of items, or a more inclusive one?
Will there be options to buy or sell in various amounts, bracketed in 1, 12, 25, 50, 99?
Say you're gathering items, for the sake of this example, "Beehive Chips"...
Granted, Beehive Chips are pretty common, but are they common enough to say stack to 99? What about Imperial Wootz Ingots? Is it even practical to Stack these to 99? Would the option to buy just twelve be removed? Or would both options coexist?
Or is this adjust meant just a really simple adjustment to normal consumables and items like food items, tool bags, quivers, bullet pouches, silent oils, and prism powders and such, while leaving most/all crafting items untouched?
Is this a leg up for the Empyrean upgrades so people don't have to carry ridiculous amounts of single upgrade items items?
I'm concerned mainly because sometimes it's hard enough to just finish off a stack to twelve. Most of the time if I have say seven or so, I just end up selling it to a vendor for minor cash if in town, or just tossing items altogether if it's under a certain amount. If the stack sizes were bumped to 99 with no bracketing, I could see a bit more difficulty in selling items.
Are we to hold 99 and only sell 12 at a time? That would work, but the Auction House menus are annoying enough with the redundant confirmations and what not. Adding another step to that already ridiculous inquisition would be ill advised...
I don't expect a response from a Developer other than a neutral "Wait until the version update" if at all. But I am wondering if anyone else had any concerns as well to this extremely welcome addition to FFXI.
